    Here is the current data of traffic flow at the TIA till 2019. The growth rate is steady in some years, in others it jumps heavily. From 2017 to 2018, the growth rate was 13%, while from 2018 to 2019, it was 2%. Currently, the airport is already congested, frequent delays and aeroplane holding in air is common. The average growth rate comes to about 7-10%. By 2040, we will have to rely on Indian Airports near the border. Nijgadh is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT for Nepal.

    Nepal already have 2 airport besides TIA which have no use nowadays . So, it’s better not to build or even imagine for another big airport. If Possible extend TIA which has potential.

    ७ बर्षमा निजगढ वा अर्को एयरपोर्ट बनेन भने नेपालीले सजिलो र सस्तो तरिकाले नेपाल बाट आफ्नै एयरपोर्टमा विदेश जान र आउन पाउछु भनेर नसोचे हुन्छ अहिले भएको ३ वटै एयरपोर्ट पुर्ण क्षमतामा चल्यो भनेपनि पुग्दैन। बाध्यता हो यो । हुनत बाख्राको खोरसंगै खाएर, सुतेर आएको नेपालीलाइ दुई लेन बाटो पनि ठुलो लाग्छ एयरपोर्टको आवश्यकता बुझ्ने त हैसियत र दुरदृष्टि पनि हुनपर्यो नि। तथ्याङ्क र वास्तविकता नबुझेपनि भविष्य सोच, बाउको पालामा र अहिले कति फरक भयो सम्झ अनि छोरा नातिको पालालाइ पनि सोच के ग्वाँचहो तिमीहरु त हिडेरै भएपनि आइहाल्छौ नि आफै आफ्नो भारी बोकेर।

    For geographically small country like Nepal, there is no need of 4 international airport with 270km radius. An uneducated nerd would be understandable enough that nijgadh is total waste of money.     ​@@pratik4157 Either you have no idea about how airport is managed or your mind hasn't been broaden in a way to think from all the perspective. Since Singapore is just an island , the only reason there has been two airport is to manage the traffic. Minimum area ma population dense vayera testo garyo ho. As in context of Nepal , there are two alternative airports to manage the traffic , incase of any casualties. I don't think I need to remind you that the population in Nepal is thoroughly divided . In case GBIA and PIA fully operate , the number of passenger through TIA will be drastically reduced and air traffic as well . I hope you got my point . More than this airports , Nepal has more serious underlying problems.
