plus now it will be the most boring race track ever. it’s not like they are going to be able to run different lines which is the whole point of a short track. very low amount of passing it my prediction for these two races

It's extremely cheaper. If you're going fast on it and it's not dangerous, it's professional, crack, bumps, surface changes and repaves are part of the skill involved.

I can't believe it. IndyCar fixed the color bar chart at the bottom of screen showing hybrid status.

The difference in seconds is so minuscule, that speed gives a better difference in terms of gaps

They're essentially the same. To get the speed they divide the length of the track by the lap time

I think speed is seen as more important/relevant on ovals because the cars never slow down like on a circuit

I seemed to see Ericsson. Then I checked and it was Ericsson from the former Sauber team. There was also Grosjean in the Indy paddock. If Grosjean can keep his mentality stable, he can get very good results.

They plan on having a session for volunteer drivers to rubber in the high line.

The hybrid allows to restart the car but is disabled in the pits ??? what is the point of not allowing a stalled car to restart by itself ? Anti-stall has been in F1 for a long time and we still get unnecessary full course cautions cos someone stalled in a perfectly safe spot. Ridiculous

There's a software error with the restart technology anyway. It failed 6/6 times at Mid-Ohio last weekend and is disabled until the software is figured out. It's a joke.

It's disabled in the pits for safety reasons, because of refuelling. F1 doesn't refuel in the pits. They can easily restart the cars in the pits anyway.

@@amjan as if every racing series that has refueling can't use hybrid in the pits, endurance cars refuel and then pull out of the pit box on electical power alone.

In my mind if you mess up leaving the pits and atall the car you deserve a penalty In the form of wasted time to re fire the car. Where as when you're on course you've already served a penalty for your error and crashing by losing all those spots. Shouldn't need to get a crew out to retire. Makes sense in competition to me

That repave is a joke. The Nascar race was a parade and you can tell Indys race will be the same or maybe worse with cars spinning just from looking outside.

That was not good at all. Race is gonna be so boring both days. And I probably speak for a lot of people with this, but PLEASE bring back superspeedways like Michigan and Miami

How do you ruin the best short oval in racing? Let crapcar “fix” it.

Wow. Turns out that adding 110 pounds near the rear axle causes unpredictable oversteer issues. Whooda' thought? The drivers seem to be tip-toeing their way into the turns. I can understand not having enough confidence to go two-wide in the turns.

Olympic runners aren't real athletes. They only go in circles. Olympic cycling isn't a real sport. They go in circles too. Competitive swimming is also BS. They only swim back and forth in a straight line. Same logic. Whether you like it or not, whether you can comprehend it or not. 😂
