Practice Folk Magic: Tools for

This video talks about the supplies I use to practice folk magic as a traditional hereditary folk Witch. These are basic, easy-to-access, inexpensive supplies readily available in most places. You do not need a lot of money to practice folk magic; all you need is a simple list of supplies, a thrifty eye, and a desire to learn.

I love pens and paper for witchcraft! I converted my altar to have a chalkboard backing, and it's been a life changer!

It’s so fun hey! Chalkboard is great! Have you tried kicking it up an notch and making your own ritual chalk out of crushed egg shells? Takes it to a whole new level! For real!

Love this! It’s a great reminder that you don’t need *everything*😂 The one item you didn’t mention that I often use are small muslin drawstring bags. I use them to label and store some of my supplies, for spell bags, and as herbal sachets for ritual baths. Oh, one honorable mention - empty jars of all shapes & sizes for spell jars and storage or display of my witchy items.

Actually something I use a lot is my phone! Sometimes when I‘m feeling tired I like to just sit at my altar and listen to music. Or I listen to guided meditations. I also use it to take notes when I‘m out and about. 😄 I always activate the „do not disturb“ mode when I am using it for my magickal practice.

D'you know, I recently did a long-term working involving a big black candle and ended up discontinuing and deconstructing that working upon further advice from my guides. I'm still trying to hone in on what was unadvisable about that working (either mechanical or moralistic) but I hadn't considered it might be the candle itself. It was a black coated, white candle. As a practicing Witch of 4yrs it just goes to show you're never done learning, as I'd never heard the term 'true black' in reference to a candle before. Maybe not the complication in my working, but definitely something to consider nonetheless.

I too do the same. I keep all my brown, natural wrappings for petition work.

True black is a term that came from the fact that black candles had white cores. There is superstitious information about it. I never work with a back with white core candle. It creates a polarising energy.

I buy my own bees wax sheets from aliexpress then roll my own candles. that way I can dress the herbs and oils inside it. I also love using natural stones i pick up on walks with lovely white patterns in them.

Thank you so much for this video. great work. Yes that's true I used little bags foe herbs and stones and the little empty bottles for mixing oil and preparations . I also have small wodden boxes to keep oil and candles. and little "funnels" and spoons. question? I'm new so forgive my ignorance. Do we have to oint every tools separatly or can we do them all at once? Do we consecrate them as well?. Thank you for everything. God Bless

You can anoint your tools altogether if that is more practical for you. I tend to only consecrate the tools that I use for Spirit Work, once a tool has been consecrated. No one else other than yourself can touch it.

thank your for sharing this video I really enjoyed it a lot and I love to dry out my own flowers when they are in season like Jasmine when I see it growing on a wall outside a shopping center and I only take a few when I need to sometimes I even use it fresh and then there is the frangipani when I see it on the ground. I see myself as a simple witch who likes to do simple things as that is all I can do. Today I did a spell with my candle when I was doing our ironing and I let my candle burn longer this time other times I just let it burn for little while. stay safe and blessed be.

Charged water, and incense! I use so much moon water and specialized waters. They make wonderful offerings, bases for magical teas, cleansing agents, anointing, and empowerments. Storm water is a personal favorite for all-purpose empowerment of a spell. Incense is in the same boat for an all-purpose tool/ingredient - offering, cleansing, charging, setting the mood, protection, circle casting, empowering the space. I cant witch without them!

U r so right bout rusty nails 😂😂😂 Cain't go nowhere without one. Those scissors r very beautiful. I luv da shape. I'm actually in da works of makin a new amulet 4 da blood moon and it uses tiger's eye and howlite beads wit a gold lions head. I'm also an earth sign and prefer organic/natural items. I feel it's earthly power is purer and stronger.

    1. If you have a Tarot or oracle deck, you have a set of images you can use on your altar/workspace to represent and solidify your intention. 2. Acting things out! You want to cut ties with someone? You can use your twine and scissors...or if one or both are missing, you can *act out* cutting a string with your scissors. 3. Water! Say a blessing over it. Add salt or herbs or fragrance to zoom in on the intention. Use to anoint things, wash things, pour over or into things....

Very nice, water is a good one for many who have access to clean water sources. Sanely not all do so I kept that one out of my list. But it’s good to see that other value and honour their work with water 💦

I appreciate that you are trying to make an awesome video, but i have to say that your constant moving is making me sick, i had to stop watching. I don't want to sound mean, but all that moving is very distracting and like i said, it makes me physically ill.I know i'm not the only person who feels that way.

Sorry about that. I use a tripod and the paining movement is to show things from various angle. Without the such movement the video would be very one dimensional.

@@AvalonCameron I'm taking about your constant hand movements. I don't think your videos would be less interesting if you didn't do that, on the contrary. I for one can't handle it, please don't think that i'm trying to be nasty, i'm not. ❤
