Powerslide Zoom Pro 80 Skate Review | Big Wheel Inline Skating

Спорт

I have been interested in reviewing more budget oriented skates for those picking up their first pair or skaters getting back into it without a huge budget to spend on skates. That's why I reached out to Powerslide for a skate under $200. This sub $200 inline skate just so happens to include the Trinity Mounting System! Will this skate be the best sub $200 freeskate? Let's find out!
Big thanks to ‪@PowerslideInlineskates‬!

    One mistake I just caught. The bearings are ABEC 7 and not 5. They say 5 on the Powerslide website. I did not take these apart and went with what Powerdlide said on their website. Next time I will make sure I check.

    It's ABEC 7, but they really feels more like ABEC 5... And ZOOM is the only Powerslide freeskate for wide foot (all other models is too narrow for me). It's just sad, that there is no 44-45 eu size, cause 45-46 is a bit too long for me...

    Great review! After watching your review about these skates it is even harder to make a decision! 😄 I already have the Powerslide Phuzion Argon Road 4 x 110mm and they are great for long distances. I also want skates for more urban fun and was looking for the Powerslide Phuzion Argon 3 x 110mm or maybe the Phuzion Argon 4 x 80mm. Both soft boots. I am at the age of 55 at not going to do jumps or other advanced tricks. Only some urban skating and backward skating. Amazing review, question what would you recommend for wheels for skating around city, mm and Hardness? Also I hear people talking about frame and how they would change them what is frame for I’m confused:\

  • @ThirtyandRollin

    @ThirtyandRollin

    2 жыл бұрын

    Great questions. The frames are the metal and sometimes plastic pieces that hold your wheels to your feet. By changing your frame you get to use different wheel sizes, frame lengths and even rockered frames(more maneuverable). The best frame/wheel setup for an average everyday roll would be the 4x80. That's a frame that holds 4 wheels that are 80mm in size. I would also say the 3x110 is a good setup too if you have rough surfaces you will be skating on. As for wheel hardness I say stick to 85a-88a. Hope that helps!

    I'm a returning skater myself and got some cheap Zetrablades (Fitness) from Rollerblade for Christmas ($99.99). I only have about 10 hours clocked in on them and I'm already seeing things to be desired, not to mention the front axel/wheel flew off mid session this afternoon. In your opinion should I go for these in your video or hold off and splurge for something on the higher end? I also saw your video on 4x80mm Vs. 3x110mm so I'm on the fence on which setup. Potential Candidates: Twister Edge X 4x80mm or Twister Edge 110 - I would love to just buy a secondary rail/wheels and swap between 4x80 or 3x110 eventually. Powerslide Next 110 - I think would be good compromise between shorter wheel base and lower to ground with trinity setup for fitness but not being as bad for skate park. RB 110 - Maybe just cost alternative for longer sessions, and keep my Zetra's 4x80mm for skatepark to abuse. I do mainly urban/fitness skating around my neighborhood, but I'm getting decent at ramps at my local skate park. I believe my foot is standard/average so I'm concerned I may not fit will into the Twister Edge Boot. US 10; 27cm length; 10.5cm Width; normal arch.

    I always say get the best skate you can in your price range. A good skate will last quite some time. As for what frame. to get that's very personal. I really enjoy a bigger 4 wheel rockered frame but that doesn't mean you will. If you are doing more jumps or technical flatland stuff then 4x80 if you are doing more long cruises go bigger 3x110.

I have already changed out the frame to accommodate 90 mm Hydrogen wheels. I have yet to skate them this way. I agree about the eyelet paint. I also had the logo start to wear off after first use. I just scraped the logos all off. I also hated the white laces and white side guards. I removed the guards and changed out to black laces. I like the looks of the skates better now, if nothing else. :-)

    So I have nearly 70 miles on the Zoom Pros with a 276 mm Trinity frame using Hydrogen wheels. I'm really enjoying them. They are very comfortable. I have learned that I prefer the 276 mm frame over the 243 mm. The extra aft stability is very noticeable, and the 90 mm wheels roll faster and smoother than the 80s. I replaced my Flying Eagle F2s with the F7 Optimums. They are great, too. Now I want to replace the 243 mm frame on them with the Endless 90. Just waiting for that frame to be back in stock.

    I agree about the too fast part, i bought flying eagle fs6 and almost crashed into several people as these things are fast. But barely a complaint i guess, they are good quality. I did return them as they were too narrow for my feet and my right foot is still hurting after trying them for 30 minutes. People with wide feet should stay clear of flying eagle which is otherwise a fantastic product.
