Viktor Axelsen (born 4 January 1994) is a Danish badminton player who is the current number one ranked men's singles player in the world.[2] He is a two-time World Championship gold medalist, defeating Lin Dan in 2017 final and Kunlavut Vitidsarn in 2022 final. He is also the reigning Olympic Champion, having won at the 2020 event.[3]
He won the 2010 World Junior Championships, beating South Korea's Kang Ji-wook in the final to become the first ever European singles player to hold the title.[4] Axelsen is a three-time European champion, having won the title in 2016, 2018 and 2022.[5]
Kento Momota (桃田 賢斗, Momota Kento, born 1 September 1994) is a Japanese badminton player. He is known to have a skillful and relentless play style on court. He has won several major badminton tournaments including two World Championships titles, two Asian Championships titles, and one All England title. Momota entered into Guinness Book of World Records for "The most badminton men's singles titles in a season", for his achievements by winning 11 titles in the 2019 season.[1]

    Prime momota reminds of 2011 version of lin dan. Playing very precisely and defensively. Punishing any slight inaccuracies.

    actually, 2011-2013 version of Lin Dan is the best and most complete version. 2007-2009 version of Lin Dan was not the best, just peak performance in some big tournaments.

    The audio from this match is so good! The smashes really whip. It seems nowadays very few events are correctly mic’ed to get good sound from the court

    This isn't a rivalry. Pre-accident Momota could give Axelsen a 10-point handicap and still win most of the games.

    Momota could give any top players 5-10 points handicap during his prime. World Champ final vs Antonsen in 2019 was worse than a daily practise routine for him

    14-1 right after Malaysia master Jan 2020. Since then the accident ruin his eyesight, body power and footwork .
