I just ordered one of these to replace my Firestick 4K. I got fed up with the Firesticks bloatware that causes it to lag. For the price I’m praying this has minimal lag and gives me the best possible stream from my provider.

I have a Z8. Has been a good performer, but I really don't place any real demands on it. The problem I now experience is that I suspect problems with holding a WiFi signal compared to other brand name boxes. Has become quite unstable with a solid network connection, at times testing 0 mbps with Analiti. Since I don't mind working through problems, I'll have to see if a hard or soft factory reset might resolve the issue, although I suspect the culprit is hardware. Maybe it has reached its end of life cycle. Wish me luck.

Anemic CPU. Same chip Dune initially used, but quickly dumped as no support for Dolby Vision. Very odd choice for a supposed top tier box. For the money, this is not a good value. Buzz TV U5 is a far better choice for an IPTV box. I use an iptv service that has some movies not only in 4k, but also dolby vision and dolby atmos. Not always present when using tivimate on a shield, but works on the Buzz TV. Also love the hdd caddy and recording functions.

Thing is trash broke after 1 month turns on for 30 seconds then go red and i get no display on tv any ideas reset doesnt work

my internet at home ranges between 25-45mbps is it enough?

is there a optical SPDIF output to connect for example a Sonos Soundbar ?

TiviMate is much better! Try it. I think they have a trial (TiviMate). IN my opinion TiviMate is the best hands down!

Have the Z 11 max pro and Shield pro! Prob the only 2 streaming devices you would ever need. And there both great for different reasons.

Chigz... IMPORTANT.. DID YOU REALLY SAY NTFS formatted drives WORKS with this streamer? Or was that a mistake? I've followed you for years watching and comparing various boxes (Android & PC based) as I have been looking for either a Dual Boot Android/Windows box, or an easy to work solution to allow my (aging) Nvidia Shield K1 tablet (hooked up to my amp/speakers and TV) to access both my 1TB and 2TB backup drives... ALSO... IS IT capable of installing a different launcher like 'Nova'??? As.. Heck! THIS could be my next purchase! 😮🤔 😎🇬🇧

Formuler suggests that you format your drive to NTFS. I formatted my usb drive on my Z8 pro and my sd card on my Z10 pro this way to record live tv. Although I do believe that you can format FAT 32 also.

I bought one of these recently , but the sound is giving trouble , no sound at all when you switch it on , have to keep restarting the box till the sound comes back , any one know how we can fix this ? any one have a downloader code for audio optimiser ?

That’s strange, wonder if you have a fault. Try doing factory reset and see if that resolves it.

A friend of mine has the Formuler 9, I have 2 Formuler Z11 Pro Max. He can go back in EPG and look for programs that was aired 2 week before, I can't. HELP. And I bought the Pro Max for his extra 32Gb but I can't make recordings on the memory???? So, whatfor the extra 32Gb can be used? My intention was the make recording on that part of the memory and to transfert these to my PC for editing.

From Amazon shopping, and it's sold for $ 200. I think that firestick 6 max or fire cube is a better option. Also,you need to have an i.p tv subscription.

Absolutely no Dolby Vision support !!! Does the CPU actually run as 64bit or just 32bit also does this box support 32BIT & 64BIT ABI's...The Nvidia shield runs as a full 64bit CPU and runs both 32bit & 64bit ABIs ... Will this box run Kodi in 64bit mode or only run 32bit theirs a huge difference in performance...The shield may be an older box but it runs practically everything!!! If you use and run AIDA64 app it will show you The Shield has a proper Hybrid CPU .

This is the first RealTek device I've seen but 1.4 GHz is kinda slow compared to others...Its good to see competition, maybe prices will come down.....You didn't show if "Developers" options can be achieved.....Here's the negative........giving it a SUPERB is off....it can not play 4K Prime and Netflix.......you should downgrade it...thx

@@pauldarby8398 yes.. its good. but there are so many boxes. and they didn't optimized it for every box... not one i think. what understanble. thats why the one on this box is way better. you can even load you on subtitles in from opensubs..pauze for ever and record multipleprograms enz if you need it.

MAG boxes are still the best. Linux boxes are simple and no app based. 8 years still running. Android boxes come today and die out in 1 year due to updates

I thought I just got a lemon! Got my money back from Amazon. I don't see why us consumers have to tolerate these $200 plus boxes that are buggy. They should play flawless out of the box. Mine just kept freezing and skipping right from the beginning on all the apps which included their MyTv, Cinema, You Tube, Kodi or anything else. I have to admit though that the remote is sweet. Feels really nice with it's action.

What Chigz did not do is install codecs that can handle the higher bitrate on the Formuler. The box can handle it.

@@Beast_Son_Gohan i have it. xiaomi mi stick 4k is better for me, bcs it have pure android and its have my native language. amazon have a closed software and u must sideload a lot of apks. on xiaomi is all easier. amazon have stupid ads - xiaomi dont. xiaomi have better remote for me than amazon and etc, etc :)

Actually works better then the Formuler Z11 at least for me after having the Formuler Z11 for about 3 weeks it started messing up so I sent it back to Amazon and exchanged it for the Nvidia Shield Pro and I'm glad I did. Now I wouldn't mind giving the Formuler a try again some time from now see if it works better being that it is still really new.

Indeed. For iptv this is the best you can get. I have several other streamingboxes and I only use the formuler z11 Pro Max.

Tbh I don't think there's 1 TV box that you've reviewed which makes me think ooooh I'll go for that .. think I'd rather spend £120 and go for the fire TV cube... OR save some money and go for 4K Chromecast... What can this £150 device do that a £45 Chromecast can't do

It’s a performance chart. So most power ranked higher but if you look closely you will see each box has a rating out of 5. I actually gave the shield a 5 out of 5 rating and the Apple got 4.5.

It's rubbish. Ive had mine 3 months. The Z8 was much better.

Another wild Chinese box running on crippled cellphone OS, can't run official Android TV OS since it is not Google certified, It won't run official Netflix app with 4K and no need for mouse because it is not Netflix certified. Yes it has plenty ROM and RAM, but unnecessary for a TV box. Price is ridiculous for what it is. And dude, sound in your video is all over the place, impossible to watch without remote in the hand

Nvidia still the best android box 6 years later. Thats another china CRAP box. That doesn't work right
