Yes indeed a box for advance users and with that newer Amlogic chipset I hope just Like The S905x4 it is also good if not even better with Emulators, I heard there is a new app or emulator for windows that's on its early stage and if this Chipset can handle that and plays windows games or some of it then the box will be great too plus some have a workaround in 4k or HD streaming it sound like Corelect and EmuElec something maybe soon you might try that too in the same chipset or newer chipset. What is the cost per device if they went official android system? The power should be enough, but the support for different apps ranks higher in the consumers part?

AM8 support Dolby Atmos. Btw this is the one of the few Android Boxes, can play DV from file.

There is an interesting convergence happening here.. the new Intel N100 based ultra low power mini PC's can be had for as little as $160 and they come with 8GB RAM and 256GB / 500GB SSDs. They have about the same performance as a desktop Skylake i5 6400 and will obliterate these tv boxes for the same power usage. Intel have clearly gotten off their arzes after all the AMD Ryzen thrashings 😂 They're gonna have to drop the prices of these tv boxes to compete. The ARM vs x86 wars are starting to heat up.

Are they capable to using 2 HDMI port one to TV, and other to reciever for audio. and playng 2160p HDR content without a problem

Nvidea does not have HDMI 2.1 That's a must for dynamic HDR

For me, no TV box is worth my consideration unless it's running the Android TV OS, not some out of date customized (or malware-infected) version of Android !

I think I've found that this box gets hot when playing 4K DV files of around 27gb, may play well for a while but it seems to start crashing and I'm almost certain it's because the chipset can't cool down, it's badly designed for heat flow. I'm going to complain and try to send it back. Anyone else experiencing this or have any ideas ?

I am not sure why „Android 11“ is considered a pro, since „Android 14“ is right around the corner, and it did not seem to have any update function, that is a huge minus.

Why didnt you try dolby vision ? Thats the main reason im interested in this box

I can never understand buying these powerful Android boxes the problem is what good are they if they don't support 4K an Amazon Prime and Netflix everyone might as well buy just either the Nvidia Shield or Apple TV what's the point of these other ones.

Netflix and Disney functionality will be fixed soon, when the XDA devs pump out the custom Android TV Rom. Patience 😂

@@stepheng8779 rk3588 and rk3588s version is powerful, but for some tv box brands it's lack of software development. But, if you buy an SBC like orange pi, rock pi etc, they have their own decent software development both android and linux distros

Rockchip may have solid performance but their support of the modder community is non-existent. That means once they drop support for something, it's pretty much all she wrote. I have a Rockchip RK3399 Tv box that is useless now because it's stuck on Android 7 firmware. It can be used with a Linux based OS like Armbian but then it lacks hardware acceleration. You're always better off going with Amlogic if you can.

I can't imagine why this box should be popular. Low resolution streaming? 😢

Seems ridiculous IMO that a box using Android at its core can't mirror from Android devices, but works great on iOS 😂 Someone needs to raise their game with the mirroring app somewhere. Other than that it looks a decent device, if a tad pricy.

Giro is working of course. You forgot to connect the remote with Bluetooth?

When you first power-on the box, it asks you to pair the BT remote connection, by holding down 2 buttons. So thats not the reason.

This should cost half at best. Also why would you say "not sure why would you want to drop the speed of USB ports" when the explanation is written right there. And this was already mentioned, but in the settings you had HDR set to auto / DV, which means this box should support DV, then you did not show us any DV test and at the end you even said it does not do vision like the shield does. This chipset has a little bit more in the tank than most other but why would you even need that if the box cannot take proper advantage of it. There were many boxes that for example can handle the 400 mbit jellyfish video while having much less powerfull chipsets. Another thing is the audio issues. When using VLC does the audio play because VLC can actually decode that surround sound format and pass it to your receiver or is it just doing some downmixing ?

how is the drm support for advanced users?.......even newbies want to know if it supports netflix, prime and disney in 1k 2k etc........which is where all these boxes fall on their face so to speak.........most do not support streaming in a decent resolution and all their gui's look like they were made by a kid........nvidia shields are still the best all around adroid devices....pro preferably since its 64bit.......which is another thing most of these cheap boxes dont do and thats run 64bit apps like plex media server. they are better off just scrapping android and using legit copies of chrome os with play store on these boxes.

Mine crashes when playing 4k DV 28gb files after an hour or so, my basic theory is that it is getting too hot. I think this because when I let it cool down it works again and it has poor heat flow. Any help on this if you have no problems ?

No Widevine L1 support so forget about Netflix 4K. So this product is utter trash and it can shove 32 bit ancient apps where sun don't shine. Next.....

I dont understand why people buy these uncertified boxes with terrible ui, backdoors and you cant even stream HD
