My 2014 is not power but the release has failed. There is no other way to open unless you climb in the back, pry open a cover and open from there.

Hello The training was interesting and practical. My car has the same problem as your car, I want to get the liftgate motor and replace it, please let me know the place or website where you got the liftgate motor. Thanks

This just happened to mine, same year but less mileage. Sucks. It’s like it’s designed to fail after 3 years…

So the 10year/15000km warranty didn't cover this type of failure?

@@Driver67We get 5 year unlimited kilometres in Australia. All car makers are now doing 5 year warranty here. Not sure why many other countries only get 3 year. 3 years is not long enough given the complexity of modern cars. Having said that all car companies do their best to avoid claims. Chances are they might say this issue is wear & tear so not covered. So then you take it up with consumer law and try to force the matter. Got my new CX-5 top of the range a few days ago. Hopefully it won’t give me too many issues. Modern cars these days can be problematic regardless of the make. I won’t be using the tailgate much at all so that won’t be an issue.
