My sister is having this issue im gonna try the latch. Here is my troubleshooting method, if the fuses are good, basically you have 3 ways to open it with the latch, the switch up front, the button on the tailgate, and the key fob. They are all independant of one another so if one was broken and the other ways worked then you csn easily diagnose that as the issue but if they all dont work then the only real variable is the latch itself, that being said if it is not the latch then you will be looking into the wires themselves.

Hey my PLG too will not open. What trouble shooting did you do before hand to know that the latch needed to be replaced? I checked my fuse and that looks fine, not sure what else to check. Thanks. My "beeper" is not beeping as you said it would while driving if my latch was the issue. Key Fob won't open it, both PLG buttons won't open it, driver side button won't open it, nothing will.

Interesting.....Great video, thank you. May I ask - on this vehicle, do the power struts to open it still work? I mean, when you replaced this lock mechanism, the liftgate opened up all the way, and came back down, and closed normally? I'm asking - power struts part still worked OK?

Thank you for this! Have the same problem. Keeps beeping as the lift gate doesn't lock. I tried to just unplug the beeper but the PLG wouldn't work! Plugging it back in the lift gate works but still doesn't lock. Have to find a way to stop the beeping until I get the new actuator assembly delivered. Thanks again!
