Power Steering Pressure Switch Replacement - Toyota Yaris

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Removing and replacing the power steering pressure switch in a 1999 to 2005 Toyota Yaris. If your car engine stalls when you turn the steering wheel full lock while it’s idling, the problem could be a faulty power steering pressure switch. When the steering is turned to full lock, it places extra load on the power steering pump which then puts more load on the engine. When the engine is at low revs, this extra load can cause the engine to stall. However, when the ECU gets a signal from the pressure switch, it raises the engine revs to prevent it from stalling. If you need to change the switch, the part number for the switch is 89448-51010 or Denso 499000-7150 and the torque setting is 21 Nm (15 foot pounds). Thanks for watching. It's normal for the revs to drop temporarily when the wheel is turned to full lock in either direction. If they drop a lot, or the engine stalls, then a faulty power steering pressure switch is one possible cause.

It has got to be one of these stupid most redundant bull crap sensor things I've ever seen in my life back when I was driving cars before the computers came out didn't have this problem that a little bit lower so what keep driving it didn't need a stupid pressure sensor switch to fudge everything up for me sometimes these car automakers get bored or something they put stupid crap like this on vehicles that don't even need to be there I hate new cars I hate them with a passion

When the engine is idling and you use the power steering, it puts the engine under extra load and the revs drop. To stop the engine from stalling, this switch detects the extra demand on the engine and feeds the information to the vehicles computer which then compensates for the demand and keeps the engine running smoothly.
