The only issues I really had was how they did mah man Goldar, you made Rita into this badass and Goldar was one of her strongest monsters back in the day so they couldve made him into a beast. Id honestly give this film a High Rental. I had fun but it wasnt go out to the movies worthy to me.....also not gonna lie I rewatched the 90s One as soon as I got home haha

JaxBlade it's a matinee for me. i grew up on the shit too, and prolly my only gripe was Goldar... but even then, i wasn't bugging all that much from it. Even in the show, they made Goldar a pussy. the movies not great, but it's far and away better than it deserved to be, given the source material. For me, what really carried the movie was the Rangers themselves. for some, it may drag, but i liked how the flick took its time to get u invested in them. Perks of being a movie, whereas in the show, they're all these upstanding citizens who are already friends. U get that shit when ur a kid, but for this, i dug how they had to earn that friendship first..... It's so tough to look at it, cuz it's like... it's Power Rangers; why "delve" into anything?... But i get Bryan Cranston's comments when he compared the 60s Batman to Nolan's... not that PR is on that level... but the approach to the same material is so different; yet they're valid. The movie works for what it is, and so does the show!

When i picture Girts' childhood...i like to think it was like that old show "Small Wonder".

Cranston went full circle on Power Rangers, from voicing the monsters and "billy cranston" being named in his honor in the tv show to now being Zordon in this reboot, he's been in on it from the start.

Just an example of a movie trying to please too many masters. They're trying to put out something new and compelling for the casual viewers, trying to recapture the feel of the show for those who grew up on it, and trying to market to children (because, let's face it, the whole franchise is just a vehicle to sell toys). Those three things are a tricky combination to get right without having the tone feel all over the place.

rpm was dark...time force got dark for tvy7...lost galaxy killed a ranger..in space had the most epic finale and plotlines like how it started ever....i don't get why people assume power rangers stayed goofy like the mmpg and turbo eras..it did not...it got goofy again with wildforce but dino thunder was not

RPM was dope. My only gripe was that it started off with a dark, more adult tone then became the typical power rangers series as the show went on. The mega zords literally looked like toys. But the characters and back stories were really good.

I'm was not a huge fan of the show, but i can agree what they said about goldar, he looks terrible in the movie. at least in the tv show, even though it was cheap looking, he had a better character design.

IMO they really shouldn't have tried to take the material seriously. Overall it looks like they did a decent job at doing that, but when you start hearing things like "Power Rangers", "Zordon", "Goldar", "Putty Patrollers", "Rita Repulsa" and "It's morphin' time!" it kinda lessens the impact lol.

The problem with Saban's Power Rangers is it tries to be dark and serious. Super Sentai were hardly ever serious. They embrace the goofiness and know that their audience are kids with single digit ages.

ya'll never watched in space lost galaxy timeforce rpm and even at times lightspeed....the f?..power rangers got dark when it wanted...ninja storm spd and dino thunder had dark storylines even if the shows tone was comedy focused...i really liked dino thunder timeforce and in space..those 3 shows got power rangers correctly imo...their tones their drama the writing..perfect..what lightspeed was missing in particular writing wise it made up for with ideas...that season had ideas for days and could of lasted 70 eps for 2 seasons if they wanted and I would of been fine

That’s… so weird to hear, cause for years I kept hearing from Super Sentai fans that the Sentai was more serious and darker and PR was goofy and childish. I’ve seen a bit of Sentai, and I think it’s exactly the same, but in Japanese. Both have seasons where they’re goofy as fuck or serious as shit. lol

As an "80's baby" & "90's kid", I fully understand the evolution of "kids programming". The 80's is when they really started to make new shows for kids. Too bad most of the shows didn't have good stories because they were primarily propaganda for things like: encouraging kids to join the military later on in life, promoting certain "gender ideals/images", and/or just made to sell toys. The 90's came along with better written stories for cartoons, live-action shows for kids, and started the large influx of anime (which were edited into "acceptable kids shows") in the U.S.

I was into Power Rangers show as a kid. The show has not aged well, it is incredibly awful if you were to watch it again today. I liked this movie, I expected it to be shit too. The cast is really a good and likable but I agree the last 30 mins where all the action happened was actually the weakest.

"Name a cheezier Saturday Morning cartoon that writers made something decent with!" Voltron: "Hold my beer, Speed. Repit Sah. ✊" Speed Racer: "Repit Sah, brotha. ✊"

The fact that this one of the most intense reviews from the collection, goes to show how bad the movie Industry is on this year.

I feel that more product placement creates a more real world experience. Just having more of one type of product just makes it more obviously guilty of being product placement and really can feel like watching an advertisement.

I thought this Power Rangers movie was worth a matinee price of admission. This Goldar from the Power Rangers movie was crap compared to the 90's TV show.

As a Power Rangers fan, I loved this movie. It is everything I like about the franchise, but modernized for today. I hope they do more sequels. Also, they took the most boring ranger, Billy, and made him the most likable character.

As a PR fan, that makes no sense. This movie was nothing like the show. I think it was actually better in some regards (Rita & Zordon actually have backstories; more depth in the characterization in general), but by and large, this was a huge departure from the original series. For better or for worse.

Mushrambo Kinniku The show in of itself was a bunch of shitty clichés haha. At least the movie still retained those elements, and made the Rangers more interesting than their TV counterparts. I love the show, but let's face it: "teenagers with attitude", they were not. These new kids at least lived up to it, and felt like genuine teens. But to each their own.

Out of all the nostalgic movies, I feel embarrassed to have liked the Power Ranger movies for some reason lol... they don't look as badass as I imagined they were when I was a kid.

Adi Sankar Made one on KZread 4 years ago, it's still on his Channel and it is By far the Coolest Rated R version of Power rangers that I have ever seen! I was hyped to see all the OG MMPR's fight in the Bootleg/ movie and it blew my mind! Still is my favorite Fan film on KZread. Hands down Dope 🔥👌🏾✊🏾🤙🏾⚡

I don't get the hate. It was surprisingly ok. Not bad at all. I went in expecting a shit movie but I really enjoyed it. Fant4stic was bad. Ninja Turtles is bad. Transformers is bad. imo. They even avoided clichés. (the train actually hitting, they had 3 cheesy occasions to morphed but they waited for the last good moment, someone actually died to create that moment, the megazord falling because they cant control it ...) Great little touch. I can't believe I'm saying this but Power Rangers was quite ok and deserves a sequel.

My main problem with the 2017 Power Rangers movie was the fact that they kept playing that damn Kanye West Power song instead of playing the Morphin Power Rangers theme, not to mention the cast wasn't the original crew I know from the 90's show. I'm like "Who are these Great Value actors your guys got playing as Jason, Kimberly, Billy, Zack & Trinie?! Billy is not black he's a white nerd in blue clothes, Zack is not Asian he's a African American in black clothes. Who's directing this bullshit movie Michael Bay!?" I was so pissed off at this movie, I turned into Nostalgic critic.

The most cringe inducing part is when the zords are in full gallop and they play the theme tune from the to series. I get why they did it, but it just sounded forced and cheesy. If they had done a big screen symphonic version it would have been so much more epic!

6 years later and im disappointed i didnt go see this in theaters. I grew up on PR and thought this was gonna be doodoo, and it certainly was not. For me it wasn't just not bad, it was solid. Dorky at times, heavy on the product placement but i think its a huge positive that it was just one, and it was part of the plot rather than a bad running joke

This is the definition of a matinee film. There's enough here to get you invested in the story and characters but in reality it's still dumb.

I have mad love for the Power Rangers. 'Power Rangers Super Megaforce: The Legendary Battle' was the 2014 season finale. Seeing all the previous teams in one episode, then the old team doing the slo-mo walk while removing their helmets....not embarrassed to say I actually teared up while watching. I'm looking forward to seeing the film.

The movie is FUCKING FUN! Thats it. People need to remember what the fuck is been adapted from. Its really fun and enjoyable. its not perfect but its good! Sets up for a really bad ass 2nd movie! I think you know whos coming

i thought it looked stupid and cheap on the previews so I never saw it. A few days ago i was traveling on a bus and it was playing so I watched it. I was actually a bit surprised and entertained, but yea it sucked. Not as bad as I thought but it did. I thought the suits, zords and megazord looked bad and cheap. I hated that their faces weren't fully covered on their helmets. None of them were so famous to keep them uncovered like RDJ as Ironman or JLaw as mystique in mostly human form in the x men movies. That took me out of it. Goldar was a joke and Rita kinda looked like Thor's Hela without the horns. The theme song also sounded like crap and a lot of it just looked really generic and just kinda meh... I love the cheesyness and camp of the original and most Tokusatsu series and movies. This just didn't have that ir the charm.

Alright time to get real teenagers with a attitude also if nobody mentions The Breakfast Club...

They gave Goodwin so much shade for being a Power Rangers fan!
