Agreed on the front of needing more Drukhari-centric lore, and the concept of a Vect backstory series being an awesome idea. That said, you are severely underselling the hatred the Craftworlders hold for the Drukhari. Yes, the Drukhari sent aid to Iyanden, but you've left out the reason they did this - They wanted Iyanden to keep living, because they enjoyed watching them suffer. Drukhari don't generally view other aeldari as kin, the same as they don't view their own rivals as kin, and have frequently captured Craftworlders and Exodites for the same hideous purposes as they capture Humans. For a Craftworlder, there could be no one more vile than an Eldar that tortures and mutilates their kind for their own gain, not even a Slaaneshi daemon. Alliances are purely born out of desperation, when the ONLY possible alternative is oblivion. The Drukhari are the true inheritors of the legacy of their fallen empire, it was their lifestyle that created Slaanesh in the first place, and the reason they haven't shared such technology with the Craftworlders (Or destroyed them) is simply because they don't care about the fate of their species - They want the good times to keep rolling, for themselves, specifically as individuals, so pairing the Craftworlders and Drukhari together makes about as much sense as pairing the Imperium and Chaos together - HOWEVER. I would pay darn good money to see a Craftworlder and/or Ynnari heist plotline that sees them stealing the technology to create half-born, and the subsequent battles they have with the Haemonculi covens, desperate to regain their secrets. And make no mistake, it's the Haemonculi, not Vect, that harbours this secret technology.

You should also read the Other Path series from the Craftworlds few. Great insight. There is descriptions of cities in the webway where both, Drukharii and Asurianii live together sharing their lifestyles and culture in a nice mix. For me, the relationship between Drukharii and Asurianii has always been like feudal europe. Lots of infights for power and stuff, but ultimately they are one huge family and fought together against outside threats like Ottoman invasion

You are correct on everything. The Silent King is like tens of millions of years old iirc. Vect is maybe a little over 10,000 (13,000 max). "Commorragh" is loosely based on Gomorrah from the Old Testament and most likely sounds similar in pronunciation. Shaa-dom is a section of Commorragh that was abandoned and quarantined off due to a Warp incursion; a wink to the city of Sodom from the same story.

The halfborn aren't the only reason for their high population. The Hommonculi can regenerate and regrow a full Drukhari from a single ear or finger so despite their high casualty rates, they are also able to regrow their numbers with both regenerated and new halfborn members.

What do the aeldari really have in common with the drukhari? As far as I see its only their shared ancestry and enemy races. The rest is different. I see where you coming from but the mindsets of both factions are so different they would be worse off forming a long term alliance than just teaming up for a few battles. Also, you should drop the fenrisian ale Wolf Lord... just when would the HAEMONCULI of all creatures ever do a such a charitable act as provide the craftworlds the means to regrow their populations? They would sooner enslave every craftworld!

Sorry if I’m misinterpreting your question. But having such a difference between the Drukhari, CW, and Maid Worlds allows for the Eldar race to flourish if brought together. In the Path of the Incubus book, a Harlequin explains to an Incubi that no current problem can be solved by each group by themselves. For instance in this book a Disjunction is occurring in Commoragh and without the help of the Harlequins and Exodites (to some extent) their current predicament couldn’t be solved by the drukhari alone. Yes most on either the Drukhari side nor CW side would ideally want to work with one another, but many of these people have extremely similar backgrounds and all struggle/cope with similar issues. Having a collective race would allow them to view issues with different perspectives. Going back to the book, the Incubi makes a jab stating him nor any of the Commorites would ever work with someone from a different path/group. Yet here he is partnering up with a Harlequin who has vastly different goals, ideals, and perspective as his own. Each group states they hate each other, which is true yes, but many do not have exposure to one another on a mutual ground. Sorry kinda rambled and I may not have answered your question clearly.

@@thejetty_ Thank you for the in-depth answer. Personally I do not know much about warhammer 40k, so my interpretation will most likely be amateurish but what I essentially meant was that there is no way the Drukhari and especially the Haemonculi would ever provide assistance to the craftworlds in regards to their dwindling population. Like you said, the Drukhari are capable of partnering up for a LIMITED time with other factions when there is a common goal, however I just can't see the Drukhari aligning themselves with the Craftworlders, Exodites or Harlequins in a more permanent fashion due to their differences. Mind you, its been milennia and all factions have evolved very differently: Craftworld Aeldari have a rigid lifestyle whilst the Drukhari have a more excessive one. Psychic powers are accepted within craftworlders but shunned by the drukhari. I could see two different but MODERATE parts of each faction coming together, but now the whole, they are just too much of the opposite to one another and if anything, the reunion of the Aeldari race into a single faction would do nothing more than destroy the race due to civil conflict.

@@Silverdeathpt You forget how much they are prized as slaves for the fighting pits, or torture victims. The purest souls make for the most delicious torture subjects. Pampered craftworlders whom experience emotion on an exponentially deeper level than some pathetic mon keigh are far more valuable. They could very well seek to rebuild the Aeldari, as it increases the “livestock” available to their sadistic desires. But the Halrequin, Ynnari, Corsairs, etc. all are hybrid factions that aim to unite/blend the species in some form or another.

I've always thought that the Harlequins would be the ones to bridge the gap between the Eldar and Dark Eldar. Afterall, they do perform for both separately. Perhaps one of their Shadow Seers or Solitaires would help convince an Archon or Seer Council of the potential benefits of each other's ways. A mutual long term benefit for all by sharing resources in the manner of techniques rather than material. Just passing thoughts

Harlequins can come from every type of Eldar, and do work as medium for the Race entire. But they aren't a people so much as a religious army. No-one is born a Harlequin. A Drukhari might chose to become so to permanently escape the pain-need, but in exchange they loose individual freedom.

They have and do set up alliances between the sects of Eldar. Though, the Drukhari are selfish and schemers and tend to only do so out of desperation or until they are bored. The Asuryani also may _see_ something on the skeins of fate their dark brethren do not, so neither party truly comes to trust each other and their alliance is only kept until the Harlequins are satisfied.

Without Slaanesh they'd be free to use it and go to war in realspace. The most decadent Eldar went into the webway before the birth of Slaanesh and built Commoragh, she who thists/the dark prince mainly feeds of their depravity and forces them to keep going because of it's claim to their soul. I believe you are sort of correct. Iyanden (with assistance from Biel-Tan) were the most prolific and helpful to the Exodites by expanding, reclaiming, and founding new colonies. Biel-Tan was more war-centric, whereas Iyanden was more focussed on re-igniting the flame of hope through more rustic means. At some point their alliance with Biel-Tan became complicated and strained, if I recall. I can't remember the source specifically, but I think they were the only Craftworld setting up planetary colonies until the coming of the Tyranids.

But we do know their average aspect warrior is a lot better than the average cabalite with Incubi, decent wyches, and heamonculi being relatively scarce. Oh, and we know GW's track record with numbers. That being said weather or not they made a mistake in this case is still up to where they want to take the story. They do in a sense, but the Exodites use their World Spirit and the Craftworlders their Spirit Stones as a mental/spiritual shield and vessel against Slaanesh. The Dark Eldar just replace their spirit draining by draining others and replenishing their own through torture and suffering. All Eldar, no matter their faction, always feel the need to give in to their lust and desires for experience; it is the curse of Slaanesh's birth...the Drukhari have just embraced and expanded it. The Asuryani and Exodites actively resist it. It is also their cultures' penchant for self-control and meditation versus the giving in to hedonism the Dark Eldar indulge in without limit. The ones who are in most danger are the Outcasts and pirates, who indulge themselves with freedom and experience, but lack any true protection from She-Who-Thirsts. Some become Dark Eldar and make their way to Commorragh or have their fill of adventure and return to the Craftworlds...others have a dark fate of an eternity of torment dying without a Spirit Stone.

Yes this is the point I was hoping to see. Also drukhari do not have spirit stones, their souls get eaten by Slaanesh while being alive and they need to make living creatures suffer to regain sustenance. Those honeycomb growing vats, they function as an audience to the homonculous's depravity while he experiments on the living and that suffering grows/regrows the Drukhari. This would not function on an Aeldari. The only drukhari that have any sort of freedom from this are the ones with Ynnead. And while there is a story with a Drukhari gaining a spirit stone, its made clear its an extremely rare case and required tons of dedication because too much time in real space would cause Slaanesh to find him outright.

The Emperor DID defeat the Dragon of Mars, who is practically confirmed by now to be The Void Dragon. That said, however, it was logically just another shard, albeit a very large chunk, given that shards of the Void Dragon are floating about now.

Dhrukari are really a Ewww faction. They are pretty doomed and have no means of salvation, they are essentially zombies. And he is nowhere on the level of the Silent king who has killed both old gods and weaponized C'tan. They have the tech, but their souls are doomed, and if it wasn't for the laughing god, they wouldn't even have a leg to stand on.
