A primaris chapter of the line of Russ loses all communication, investigation is launched and all there is, is nothing, the fortress is abandoned, the armory is empty, and no sign of the chapter remains, there were signs of a warp gate, and signs of ritualistic totems and carvings found around the area. The wolves of Fenris were asked to determine what the totems and carvings were, and they all remained silent, for the missing chapter were off doing their duty, but in the company of the 13th

I believe the Wolf Preist made a judgment call, and rightly so IMHO. on the most esoteric level, an ally in battle should never be condemned. I personally believe that at some point in time, Russ will meet up with the 13th as they wander through the Eye of Terror. Perhaps they will assist him in his quest before returns for the Wolftime. There are other short stories and tales of members of the 13th. I've read a couple but can't recall the titles or where my paperbacks are right now. They have been cut off for over 10,000 years. They make do with whatever they can scavenge after a battle. The Wolf Preist made the right call. They need as much support as can be given for them to do what lies in their hearts...to battle for Russ and the All Father. Even if that support is misdirect a Commissar to another location so their unseen allies aren't mistaken for the enemy. Who's to say? Maybe one day in the far future, during the Wolftime, ALL of the Sons of Russ will be reunited with the Great Wolf himself and through their deeds have new sagas extolled about the strength of the pack, together and united for all time, ever after.

The Warp is another reality, not just a place. The Chaos deities can't just forcibly impose mutations on entities, especially ones as powerful as a Primarch who is linked to the anathema in the form of the Emperor. We know he used Warp energy to help craft them, and that's why they take on different forms while in the Warp: Corvus becomes a teleporting nightmare shadow monster, Vulkan becomes a full-blown dragon, etc., but when they reenter this reality, they have no changes to their physical form. No mutations remain. The Warp isn't the cause of mutations in beings who don't themselves offer some sort of surrender to the Warp. It's very shallow and unfounded (and definitely not canonical) thinking that a lot of fans of the universe adopt when they claim traveling through the Warp automatically leads to permanent corruption and mutation. This is how Abaddon, who vehemently rejects demonhood (as did Horus), has been able to maintain his Astartes form and armor despite thousands of years in the Warp. There has to be some element of surrender, and a relationship or contract for the Chaos deities to actually affect the physiology of living beings. This is why the Warp is not the explanation for the Wulfen, and no, Leman Russ would not emerge from the Warp as a giant wolf monster just because he was in there for thousands of years. Although time passage is another abstract element of the Warp... He is the one the Emperor himself said, "Will never turn from me." He may appear as a wolf in Warp space, but he would still just be Russ once he came back out. At least if GW were sticking to their own canon when they go to produce his plastic model. /rant

Speaking of canon... where does Vulkan turn up as a dragon? Also, there is no canon. Or rather everything is canon, not everything is true. There's no point arguing canon they don't care. Oh, and you think the Emperor made an angel? Or that Sanguinius invited the mutation of wings? In his gestation pod? Ok then. The chaos gods absolutely CAN just reach out and mutate stuff, they just have to have access to them.

hey Ro. i think i remember that in Wolfsbane when Russ go on his journey in the warp, before going after Horus, we see him talking to Morkay. The great demon wolf. from what i can remember Russ and Morkay might be the same being from how they talk, but we dont get somthing concrete as it fades awey in the end. But then it might make sense that if half of Russ´ soul is that of a great beast from the warp. then it will also make sense with how warp resistens the wolfs are comparet to the other legions. Then are the wolfen just more conectet to Russ´ legacy... its is just at thought but then agian if all the Primachs were made with a part of a soul form a creature in the great ocean(The Warp). then that might give os some information on some of the "Flaws" that some of the Legions had, and why some were alot bettere then others to specific tasks.

I think for the space wolves and the 13th company and Russ, it's going to be a battle like crazy. They basically halted the wolves storyline after Ashes of Prospero. So, I think they're preparing the space wolves for THE WOLFTIME, already they've seen significant growth, but there is a possibility that that growth will be stopped and maybe trimmed back. The chapters could be wiped out one by one and forced to make a defense on some distant battlefield, Fenris could be rendered defenseless and what's left of the chapters make a jump all the way into the Wheel of Fire, which is where they will make their final stand

I don’t think the inquisition would stand a chance against any of the first founding chapters. An attack on them would be an attack on all. This is especially true now that they have all been reinforced. I can imagine them trying to move on Ultramar… that would end in abject failure. As many have said here, every legion has their own flaws, have made mistakes, and have their secrets. The fact remains that there would be no Imperium without them. The inquisition is far from what Malcador intended. It’s more likely the inquisition would be hunted to extinction outside the sole system if they start attacking founding chapters.

The flaws are not flaws. They are strengths purposely put into them. Each legion has a reason to exist. Cawl just made it more stable as to not mutate random bs things. Thirst will always be the thirst. The black rage was imprinted on all geneseed of sang. Canis helix 🧬 is a space wolf. It is what separate them from everything else. My speculation is that Russ and Bjorn both knew that you had to come from fenris otherwise you would degenerate into wolf and elsewhere it’s something within the planet sphere of Fenris is what makes the canis helix stable enough. Sang hid the thirst from everyone, da his the fallen, why. Not hid this? It’s right up in there as each legion as it’s own secrets. This is the primary reason russ fought it. Do you really think during the scouring that he would admit that his Gene seed has a flaw to all of his brothers as they’re chasing the traitors? They would turn on him quickfast and in a hurry. All great wolves have this knowledge. In sure Bjorn fixed the young pup with the information he gleemed from days long past.

Wouldn't be the first time the Dark Angels have been suckered into fighting the Space Wolves and the 13th Company use tactics that current Space Wolves would never use so if they believed the 13th were actually members of the Fallen, they'd totally try and start a fight with the wolves, even if numbers didn't favour them. As for the Grey Knights. They can detect demonic taint by just being near them and demons actually feel pain in the presence of a Grey Knight (unless its nulled to nothing with ALOT of blanks). So they could tell which of the Wulfen are still in possession of their soul no matter how different they look in apearance.
