I'm watching in 2023

No one can deny that the Salvation Army had a most unique way of worshiping, for sure. I'm in my late 50s now, and grew up in rural, Newfoundland, Canada, and remember much of this myself. The Army is not what it used to be, and by a long shot, too.

@@susiletthangam3599 : Yes, the Army is "modernizing" and becoming what they believe is more "respectable," but they are loosing all their unique spirit in the process. Salvation Army churches almost, always had Alters/Mercy Seats and Holiness Tables as standard fixtures in their churches; I have been utterly, appalled to see more and more Salvation Army churches removing these to modernize and streamline. These were always, powerful symbols within the church and I am deeply, saddened to see the Army go in this direction. And all this within my lifetime.

Salvation army a friend family this reminds me of them .Thank God for the Salvos.Power in The blood ❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏🙏💯💯💯

I did this arrangement in 1985 at WMI in California. It seemed to go viral after that. I feel blessed that the message of the saving power of the blood of Jesus is a universal message and can never be quenched. This video is taken for the BBC program Songs of Praise in 1990.

1:49 There are some really big glasses which were fashionable (not that Salvationists are permitted to follow worldly fashions), were 'available for sale' in the nineteen-eighties. . Jessica Fletcher had big glasses up until 1990. . The bonnets look early 1980's but the mens' hair look mid 1980's And renting the Opera House was common in those days; any community group could hold sing-songs there; it doesn't look like the concert hall, is it the recording studio? . . That was when it was an Army, not anymore, it has lost its identity

I meant the temple is flat. In the Army days past,they would have sung it with lots of joy.

I could not agree more bring back the bonnets , The old style new uniforms looked like Salvationists and made us stand out. The new style particularly the female soldiers look more like police officers

This song, as I found out, was written by Lewis E. Jones in 1899. The song "Quartermaster Store", which there are several variations of, is believed to have been originally penned during the time of the Spanish Civil War, from 1936 to 1939, and was therefore highly likely based around this song. I think I'd much rather listen to "Power in the Blood", personally though.
