Thorough and illuminating (no pun) review. But Damian, while you were focused on amps in/amps out while away from the dock, it's worth noting that your 895 must have also come with a 240V powered battery charger as well. It needs to charge for the correct chemistry and its rating (max charging capacity) and charging profile both affect how much your house bank gets when arriving at a marina with a depleted bank. The larger the bank - if it's depleted - the longer getting pulled back up to a (near) full charge will take.

Thanks Jack, really good point I didn't really talk about the 240v, shore charger, side of the power story. You are completely correct. I was more concerned what happens when you don't have access to that power, but yes it is important and needs the correct charger for the battery bank.

Very interesting and useful video Damien, thanks! The solar panels are the answer! I tought they were less useful but I have to admit they can charge quite a lot, i didn't expect that! Just an hint for new videos can be a chat about your Garmin, it looks amazing! Or why to choose Garmin instead of Simrad/Raymarine/B&W/Lowrance and so on... I think this is the year i'll get my first (small) boat... i'm really into it!

Hi Mattia, fingers crossed on the getting a boat. Yep I have a chart plotter video on my to do list. But simply our was a demo boat and HAD the Garmin already installed. That said I have used Garmin on my previous vessels, Simrad and Raymarine, to me, are the next step up for full vessel intergration. Later

Another very interesting and useful video Damien ( and Brooke). I will certainly be doing the same sort of checks on my own boat, when it eventually arrives. Liked the comment from Brooke about you getting 9 hours sleep! Surely the puppies wake you up for a walk before then? Very pleased the solar panel is working well for you. Good old Aussie sunshine. Did you add that big leisure battery? Do not think it is the Jeanneau standard fit? Good to see you seem to have a good knowledge of the Garmin Plotter. A video dedicated to that would be useful. Hi John. So sad to hear you don't have a boat yet. So funny you heard Brooke mutter under her breath! Yes you are correct, the puppies wake ME at first light for a toilet break. Yes added the bigger battery. Definitely not a standard from Jeanneau. I did it as soon as we got the boat (ours was a demo). This is the new battery -www.aussiebatteries.com.au/batteries/deep-cycle-agm/330ah-12v-agm-deep-cycle-battery Don't think they sell in the UK!

We have now got our 895 just a couple of questions Does your fridge leak water ? We have had some water ponding at the lowers steps near the master room / the head area ? Also the bow thruster keeps tripping out ? Thanks Sam That said lovin the craft 👍

Awesome congrats on the new MF!! We have had pooling on the middle step occasionally, but not continually. Very annoy. We did figure it was the fridge but maybe only on humid days. Have not pulled the fridge out to investigate further. No have not had the bow thruster problem. I use the bow thruster most trips. Sorry don't have any ideas there. Get out and do some boating!

Damien, excellent and clear video. No TV. Any idea what 12v TV and Video consumes per hour? David

Hi David, unfortunately no but it should be somewhere on the specs of the TV. I wouldn't think it would be much. We have moved to using a 12" tablet for TV and streaming. It also means we can move it around to where we are wanting to relax.

The original was two "all-rounder' batteries (lead acid), 90Ah each.
