POV Surfing PUMPING Sunshine Coast

POV surfing in absolutely pumping conditions up here on the Sunshine Coast. To get a solid swell like this as well as light offshore in the middle of summer is very rare. The swell came from a cyclone up north and we just got lucky with the winds which is usually a strong onshore wind all summer long.
Conditions were all time for about 30 minutes with right hand barrels just dredging down this little sand bank. After that as the tide dropped and it became very straight and finding one that stayed open was very difficult.
A mix of POV + also a few drone shots from a mate of mine who came down for a quick fly.

GoPro mounts to attach the camera to the front of the surfboard. Some of my other videos use that angle for filming.

@@AngusKennedy Check out Sunny coast as good as it gets on youtube. I've lived here for around the same time, I've had awesome sessions at Point Perry and around Marcoola three times the size of your video. All good though, agree to disagree. Hope you get some waves soon, summer sucks

Yeah I'm not a fan of summer here either. Three times the size of this is well over 10 foot, no chance i'm out in those sorts of conditions. I live down in the Kawana stretch so to get it as clean as this on such an open beach with decent swell and good banks is incredibly rare!

@@AngusKennedy You'll be right mate, beachies can be a fuckn bitch! I get caught inside all the time, just be patient and wait for that gap to escape out the back. I grew up in Vicco around Philip island then moved when I was 14 to Samoa back in 1990 with my parents. There was literally no one to save you in Samoa back then. I used to have Aganoa to myself on Savaii. There's not a single video on KZread that does it justice though, I've surfed there at twice the size alone. Check it out! Love the Sunny coast, cruise up to my way sometime you're always welcome mate!

I had planned a surf trip to Savaii last year but was cancelled due to covid unfortunately, spewing we didn't get to go the place looks so good!! Yeah Kawana just can't handle the size hey, there no chance of getting out the back. Yeah I really should head up Coolum way more often. Just hard to get in the car and drive to a busier spot when you can just walk down to the local with barely anyone out ya know!
