The fact this would've been uploaded at 8 pm but I fell asleep waiting for it to export. It's still Wednesday right? Ah! We're back with my guest room makeover part 2 and trying to stick with the Wednesday uploads. As mentioned before, this room has been challenging for me for some personal reasons from last year but it feels good to work through them and get to the point of wanting to complete this room renovation.

That late night energy and creating is how I got through loss. Something therapeutic being chaotic in the quiet that soothes

Between Rachel, Kelsey Romito DIY, and DIY Wife, I've renovated my entire house. Love these women.

@@LivingtoDIYwithRachelMetzCheck out Becki and Chris, Tyler and Todd, Lone Fox and Ariel Bissett…Tiny Shiny Home. Raaaaaacheeeeeellllllll, Please, please wear a mask when you are dealing with tiny particles like the concrete. While we can replace our lungs it takes time AND all the drugs you have to ingest cause other problems. I’d like to see you have a long and happy life with your peeps….human and animal.
I'm really relieved you let go of the "reno my home in 30 days" goal, it was too much for anyone to handle, do it at your own pace, you're doing an amazing job. I LOVE how much joy the chickens are bringing you!! And I love the teal in the room, my favourite colour for sure!

90 days* and I really wanted to since I was feeling lost. Then Cali passed away and somehow it centered me oddly
The fact I fell asleep while this was exporting and it could've been uploaded at a decent hour. Also why'd my edit blank out one of my videos from Mexico in that little montage? Doesn't matter though because we're back for this DIY reality or renovating solo room makeover part 2 ❤.
Omg the chicken shaped basket you collect the eggs with is amazing. Living your best chickaaannn life

I love those damn chickens!
Loving the progress, Rach! I always love the way you work because it’s so much more realistic, at least for me. I know the platform forces diy home creators to get full projects completed in one video week after week, but that’s just not conducive to the creator’s mental health (or ours as viewers either, frankly). You’re amazing for being able to tackle that room so soon. I know it’s been a rough journey since moving there but I’m so proud of you for never losing sight of your goals. You rock!

Thank you 🙏🏼.
Don’t rush yourself to get it done in three episodes, slower work is better work and you have so much time! ❤
I LOVE the clip on top of the head. It’s real , it’s raw. 💜💜
Rachel, I have been following you for a very long time. I am sure its over 5 years. I am at awe when I see you tackle these projects. Because I get anxious just cleaning and here you are breaking a whole supporting beam! Honestly, you were one of the few women's who started doing diy and used powertools. You are one of the reasons how I started using powertools! You go gurl! you go!
I love how chaotic you are- you remind me so much of myself when I was younger. Honestly though, how are you not a model? You are stunning from every angle. Not trying to be weird, just stating facts 😊 xo
I am OBSESSED with the blue!!❤
Seeing you renovate gives me life. I can't wait to work on my own home one day. You are such a wonderful inspiration ❤

Your physical strength is impressive. I am in awe
Girl you are a BEAST and I mean that in the most affectionate and endearing way possible. Working with your hands above your head is really hard and you made quick work of that popcorn ceiling. I'm in awe as usual!!!!
Your videos have helped me so much losing my first pet a couple months ago. So glad to see you back at it and doing what makes you thrive again. 💓
I love the ‘adding more “life” into your videos’ 🥰

I am so proud of you. you are so inspiring to me, to just live life one step at a time and to really listen to your intuition to make you dream life a reality. I love that you have completely followed your heart and leaned into ranch + western rachel and I really love your style! What you said about how travel gave you fresh perspective and connected memories to your home is such a beautiful concept and meaningful design. Thank you for being vulnerable and artistic and so loving. I'm rooting for you!

Those mixers are a Godsend!!! Regardless of manufacture they all say to not load the tub without the drum spinning.... Show me ONE person that can toss bags of cement into that tub while spinning, I'll wait!!! LOL!!! The floors have a lot of character in them & I'm confident you'll do something even cooler with them!! Hoping all is well my friend, Dirty Jersey out!!! Hey Warrior, Happy New Year to you and Mister Gray... I love how he just climbs, Mama. That wall and ceiling color is gorgeous, and with the cemented floor, it looks like a beach. It's Calibeach. You can add some sea glass to that room and something Cali-ish so that with time the room becomes more than just the room she was found in. Although, you are handling the makeover with grace. Luv, luv and luvs.
It's funny the contrasts to the way we live. I'm tucked away in a snowy, ice cold north of Sweden. This week we have been fighting over -39C, I believe that's about -38.2F. Our pipes froze of course but we got it sorted out thankfully. Happy to see you in the warmth with friends 😊 Also happy to see your great energy. Wishing you the best new year ❤

I was thinking of renting one of these soon, now I’m feeling a bit more confident to do it. Because you do this sort of work so much, you really should be protecting yourself from all that dust. Lead and silica have many adverse effects - including mental health

Every time I see popcorn ceilings I can´t help but wonder, what will the "popcorn ceilings" be for the new generations? I mean our parents loved popcorn ceilings, it was such a trend, and we hate them. What are we loving that the following generations will hate? 😄

Loved that your paint felling is semi gloss. I hate mate or velour one! It is not washable even if they say so. The cloth doesn’t glide! My son told me specialist says to use mat one so the imperfections won’t show! Mine his semi gloss and don’t care for the imperfections! It is a charm to wash them!
