Sometimes more animals is better and less humans, learning to be alone is the best resolve you can gain in a lifetime, once you have gained that things will fall in place. You sound very similar to me however I am 52 so a bit more firings and learning on this end. Also, the only way to get things done right is have your dad do it in my case or do it yourself and not rely on anyone else.

Everything is looking amazing! I feel you Rachel. I am at the beginning of my healing journey after a life time of narcissistic Abuse. It has taken a long time to get to the place I am now and to have the strength to stand up and take my control back and learn boundaries and execute those boundaries. I just got a 4Runner and turned it into a camper vehicle and about to take off. Took two years to get to this point. Little by little the healing happens. One step at a time. Just know you are not alone and this too shall pass. Love you back XOXO

Ahhhh the fence falling down. I built a fence trying to make three out of four homeowners happy ( #4 was nearing the end of his life and didn’t care). Checking with them about the design, color and repairing the corner of a concrete wall. Offset properties are a PITA. All this after I’d been in a car accident with whiplash that did more damage than hurting my neck…I could still read but wasn’t retaining information from one page to the next. 😬 The fence fell apart while I was in Germany visiting. Came home and told the homeowners I wouldn’t charge them for my labor and gave them the name and number of a kid (mid 20’s) I knew that had gone into business building fences. It probably wouldn’t have taken that much to fix it but I felt like they’d lost trust in me. Come to find out those u shaped metal fence doohickies that I put in concrete the wrong way because I didn’t want them showing was my downfall. It took a female friend in the construction industry telling me where I failed and not to beat myself up for it because they aren’t clear about having the plate facing out and something something about shear/wind blah blah blah. You are doing the best you can with the knowledge you have and will keep learning. 💕

You might not feel like your renovation is going anywhere, but you've come such a long way! For me you are more than a DIY channel; you've become a mental health channel too. Your videos are more powerful than you think! I am so proud of you for being honest with yourself, and sharing the struggles and the ups and downs are all part of the healing process. Sharing your progress is very inspiring! I can really feel that DIY'ing around your animals is a different type of energy and I love that for you! I honestly believe this desert farmlife is what was meant for you all along! 💗

Keep keeping it real and it all will come together the way it is supposed to. I love that you are able to see things come together as you slow down a little. rachel, your videos are really and truly my personal vacation away from my mind and daily stresses. i started watching you way back when you were doing your bedroom renovation videos. immediately struck by your vibrant personality and authenticity, i became obsessed and started binge watching your videos. then, your moving to joshua tree series became the background to my productivity and the podcast i fell asleep to. i have to say, watching you move into the desert and start a new life has been the most beautiful thing to witness. sometimes i love daydreaming about what it must be like to have a total blank canvas away from my past life to curate exactly how i dream of. what i did not expect from this series-initially drawn to it from a purely interior design appreciation perspective-was how raw, authentic and gut-wrenchingly honest you are in your videos. it’s so refreshing to see someone as driven as you let us viewers into the hardships, missteps and trials along your journey. i’m sitting in south africa and am amazed how someone on the other side of the planet can perfectly capture and articulate the exact frustration i feel with trying to create quality art while battling depression and anxiety. you inspire me so freaking much and i am so grateful for this little parasocial relationship of me tuning in every few weeks to watch how your farm has progressed. rachel, than you for letting me dream with you and watch this amazing home of yours flourish.

Rachel this looks incredible! I am in awe about the sunrise and the space you created to watch it. And you sound healthy talking about your new philosophy-building around you and your animals. That sounds like a real good plan. Self-fucking-care ;) Also I kinda noticed that it’s so much easier to create a cozy, beautiful, clean and taken care of place when you limit the space. When you fence it out and don’t have endless overwhelming nature to take care of. You took a really good step in the right direction! I love seeing you like that and I especially love seeing that you were seeking help instead of repeating the same destructive pattern.. I am proud of you for that and I hope you are too. Sending much love your way xx alina

Seeing you take accountability for your relationships maybe not working out how you hoped, makes me proud and it's something I can totally relate to. The relationships that are meant to last will work out, and the one's that don't work out lasted the exact amount of time they were meant to, no more no less. You can still cherish memories with these people even though they're not around. Depression, grief and anxiety is a bitch so cut yourself some slack once in a while. You're doing great. ❤❤❤️

Love you and witnessing your journey. I love that you choose to build as a way to heal what you are going through. Growing up, I watched my dad work on our house and create a home full of love and warmth. Even though he was always tired, he always seems so satisfied with putting in the work. When I talk to him about my depression and anxiety, he reminds me that it is a part of life that will always kind of be there but we have the power to choose what direction we wanna move towards. I am also coming out of a creative rut where I feel motivated and hopeful but still constantly feel discouraged or behind. It is all just a part of the process.

Keep hacking your way to happiness. Life isn’t supposed to have a 100% access to happiness. Acknowledge your feelings and say this is an interesting emotion, why do I think this has manifested? I love living in my head but realized. I need others to ground my thoughts. Love your videos. Reach out and say hi, I’m frustrated… it works when you have a good network. I have also have a sleep anxiety KZread video that helps me sleep at times. It quiets the brain and I wake more rested and happy.

People just don’t talk about where they’re at mental health-wise and it makes me feel not so alone in the fact that I do the exact same thing with projects. I get so excited to start a project, dive right in and something doesn’t go right and I just sit on it for days, months, even years because I let it get the best of me. I hope this message finds you well and that you receive it with the kindness it's intended. Dealing with depression and anxiety can profoundly affect not only the individual but also those around them. It’s important to recognize the impact on others, and I hope that those affected are on a path to healing. As someone who has both experienced and witnessed the effects of these struggles, I understand the importance of empathy for all involved. Rachel, as you continue to heal, I encourage you to consider reaching out and apologizing to those who may have been impacted by your struggles. A simple apology can make a significant difference.

I HAVE REALLY MISSED YOUR VIDEOS. I'm so glad you are heading in a new direction. I think having animals takes you outside of yourself as you know you must nurture them. They are dependent on you for their survival. That's mothering. It makes you responsible for your animal family as they love you back unconditionally. That is a winning recipe for happiness and contentment. Your place is so beautiful, and we can tell you have pride in your place. It looks like a woman lives there because it is warm and inviting. I like the rustic fence and the color. Great accomplishment.

I know the trailer is a big project and nagging on your mental health, but I have to say, that that trailer bathroom is still one of my favourite projects you've done! I just think it that the tile with the woodceiling and reclaimed wood all over looks stunning! Also the door with the stained glass detail is insanely beautiful. I started to build myself doors last weekend and they're turning so so good! Women like you inspire me to just tackle a project even though I've never done it before just figuring it out along the way. I always love your work and videos even when you don’t or they don’t go the way you envisioned. I appreciate observing you and others, rebuilding and always creating, that is true life. It is frustrating for sure when projects don’t work, but your videos help that process, keep creating! Your property is really blooming and looking amazing!! 🙌👏

Every time I watch your videos I cry, and yet I watch every upload 😅 I lost my silver lab around the same time you lost Cali. (seeing blaze happy and healthy and so so similar to my boy gets me every time) Our healing journeys are so similar, and I swear it could be me on the other side of the camera sharing the exact same struggles of the passed year. Heres to diving further into grace for ourselves and getting the chapter where the main character finally starts to turn it around

Rachel you are so freaking real that honestly it makes me love you and your video creations more and more, I am kinda tired of the perfect fake life videos on YT. Thanks for sharing with us all what life can be, ups and lows and the rebirthing and blossoming that can happen after we embrace our dark nights of the soul! Sending you tons of love from Colorado! ❤

Ciao from Italy, i understand you well, i'v moved from the city to country side, been asking my hb to build many things for me he's always busy so i decided to build myself flower beds bcz im recycling wood i failed few times wasnt sturdy enough. Had time out now building from 0 again. Would have been easy with new lambers. When i fail i tent to get depressed¬ to go back anymore but im earning my confidence with tools so feeling inspired. Keep going girl you doing great❤ by the way i want to build that lounge, want the same tree chair so cute&romantic. Take care ciao😘
