Potato harvester

Ғылым және технология

This is a potato harvester , simple design , in front of the conveyor is a knife digging soil and goes to the conveyor, conveyor then sifted soil , everything depends on the soil you have, the ground where we planted potatoes is the tough clay so we'll see if this harvester can do the extraction of potato , conveyor is made that we took two chain and welded pieces of flat steel 2 cm long and 0.5 cm wide , between these pieces we weld steel rod , works perfectly still remains to test it on the extraction of potato

Can´t wait to see this thing harvesting :) I was thinking about a similar design, we have the same soil here. Heavy clay with stones, and I was even thinking about a combination of soil sifter and potato harvester.

This is excellent. For years i've been wanting to buy a little potato harvester but they are so damn expensive so i don't plant potatoes that much. I'm gonna give your design a shot :) You might wanna add a guard to the chain so the dirt doesn't get packed in the chain. Fantastic work, i can't wait to see it in action. Greetings from Paraguay :)

You could get some chain for a peanut plows and use on there. The links are bigger and will make it easier for you to weld or put whatever you want as bars, they even have tabs w bolt holes on them, and the peanut plows chains are meant for being in the dirt so they will holdup better than a normal chain. Also the peanut plows points you can get and cut to bolt or weld on your digger and will last a good while

You could put you a bar across in between the chains and but you 2 or 3 hard rubber rollers to bounce the chain a little to knock the dirt off of the potatoes, will help also to keep the chain bars from hitting or grabbing each other, your chain is short enough I don't think you will have that problem but the rollers I. Talking about are used in kmc peanut plows. If those bars grab each other it will really mess some stuff up but the chains on those are alot longer and have more sag in them. Very good idea. Looks like you did a very good job on it

Good little invention you got there. Very nice.
