Recommend that all airlines order the Embraer E195-E2.

E195 amazing airplane!

Just a word: magnificent trip report 👌

I love flying with embraer planes, very silent, 2x2 seats without the third one that I hate.. a show.. I choose my flight by aircraft..

The lighting for the E195-E2 is excellent, it has lighting in the central aisle and on the sides above the windows, and you can choose the color you want for the lighting, but I don't know why the lighting wasn't turned on this flight.

Flying now out of YYZ is not for the faint hearted. I flew last week and Porter changed our gate 20 minutes before boarding, and it was a 15 minute walk (some were running) to get back to the main terminal in time. Boarded shortly after, then had a 2 hour plus delay to mechanical issues. Finally left, but the lavatories were out of service with 1.5 hours left before landing at YVR. I’ve flown from YVR a few times with Porter and had no problems, and great service. I don’t think I’ll fly Porter out of YYZ again…even the flight attendants were apologizing for all the problems. What a mixed bag trip.

The new State own flagship airline of Mexico, Mexicana just order 10 Embraer 195-E2 a 10 Embraer 190-E2, the first planes will arrive in the second trimester of 2025. This will allow not just to expand it domestic routes, but also open its first international routes, Toronto it’s on the list of destinations. The airline began operations on December 26, 2023, being its operation base at the new Felipe Angeles International Airport, the alternative airport to Mexico City Benito Juarez International Airport.

Tried before when they ordered some A220’s in 2013 but were rejected by Transport Canada. It was a noise policy, even though the E2’s are quieter than their Dash 8’s. Unfortunate!

They would have needed to extend the runway at YTZ and fill in some of the lake to do it. That was the biggest reason. It wasn't allowed. Plus the added traffic at the bottom of Bathurst Street and potential noise.

The engines look and sound like mini GE-90's.

Question :) Did you have to pay for any extra for overhead compartment? i got a backpack that 'might' not fit under the seat, seats look cozy indeed! Don't know why i see so many negative reviews for this airline.

I purchased a standard fare, which included a carry-on bag and a personal item. Technically, if you don’t purchase a fare with a carry-on bag included, you are supposed to stow the bag under your seat. That being said, I’ve never seen this enforced on Porter. Hope that helps!

I wish porter airlines can go to Europe. And the porter plane that can go to Europe is a plane that looks like Boeing 787 and the plane I wish was a Honda HO-87 Jet. And I wish Honda made planes.

30 inches of seat pitch is unacceptable and should be outlawed by every country's regulatory agency.

Porter has reduced the seat pitch twice. When they started there was 34 inches for all. Then in 2015 it was reduced to 32 inches (and the box-lunch on board and the amenities at the Toronto lounge eliminated about the same time). When Reserve was introduced the 30-inch pitch was now standard. Because of my long legs I have to pay for the premium seats. I look forward to my first experience in Reserve on the jets. It seems a good deal.

Porter changed their policy for support animals. My elder support worker, at my request booked my flight to toronto for specialist care. I found out too late of the change of policy, would have had to chop my dog in half to be allowed on the flight and they had no provision to fly him in cargo because they save that space for able bodied peoples' luggage. I was not able to get a refund. Despicable imo!

Why? I tjoight it sounded pretty decent. No worse than Air Canada.

wow..talk about claustrophobic, clearly a regional jet interior with low ceilings and fuselage curvature with how narrow it is. flying in this regional jet for 5hrs to YVR from YYZ? is porter crazy? not to mention they don't even include carry on luggage anymore, no IFE, wifi that's wonky. these "jets" are definitely not suitable for the distance porter is flying them

All planes are claustrophobic! The 2 seat wide arrangement is far superior to 3 wide, the seats are like an inch wider than standard and the aisle down the middle looks wider than the Airbus or 737’s planes I’ve flown on. Also the extra legroom charge is not a bad price and we’ll worth it.
