dont use this to gain an advantage, if youre unsure if something will give you an advantage, just ask in the discord
note: some textures could be stored in the pak01_dir.vpk in the portal2_dlc1 or portal2_dlc2 folders. you may need to look there for the texture. if it is stored there then nothing at all changes about how you edit it.

For time optimization: when recreating the folder filepath, Ctrl-Shift-N will immediately create a new folder ready to be named. This makes it so you don't have to click and go back and forth between your mouse and keyboard.

hi i am trying to edit textures in portal 2 and i am using the valve tool called vpk.exe but its only extracting folders, not textures or models or data of any kind.
i get error "file version 7.5 does not match 7.0 to 7.4" anyone knows how to fix?

it detects it as a update so when it's stuck then reboot the game and there you go fixed
