Right where they are discharging 199 is where the fire trucks can back down to the river and draft from a large pool area that was cut into the riverbed when they were channeling the river to allow for high volume drafting.

Great job fellow firefighters! Good to see training being done. The drafting looks like it is working well feeding that ariel. Ignore all the comments from some ignorant "tax payers" that think somehow we are going to save their butts when they do something stupid, by reading books or sitting on our butts complaining like them. LMAO!

Considering one of them talks about "enjoying their sunshine list salaries" while talking about a pretty well completely volunteer (paid on call) fire department, aside from some chief officers, should tell you all you need to know about these people. They don't know jack shit about their fire dept.

With some of the highest paid workers in a community..this cost tax payers oh probably $150 000.00 to do nothing. And please don't say they did anything...all I can say is I wish we all could work for a government/city

Highest paid workers? You do realize pretty much the entire department are paid on call (volunteers) meaning they're hardly the highest paid workers of your community. Only a couple command level officers are full time. Why don't you go sign up and you can be among them, instead of whining on here.

Most would totally agree with you. It IS a great way, to be ready for an emergency takes training. You don't hop in a jet and fly. The last thing you want to do is learn something when there actually is an emergency. This is about being prepared and they did a great job and the citizens should be extremely proud of their efforts.

Yes, training and working on their skills is a great use of tax dollars.

A bit over the top?? Don't ya think?? They need to display how millions $ in massive budget of your money is spent for them to play with their big boy toys while enjoying sushine list salaries. Enjoy their show presented front and centre on main street in spectacular fashion, you paid for it! LIKE IT OR NOT. You have no say, Just pay your taxes and shut up and enjoy. Maybe they will let you turn on the lights and siren. And maybe they will start some sort of food bank drive for the less fortunate little hungry people. 😂

Sunshine list salaries? Aside from a couple command level officers, who yes would be sunshine list employee, the remainder of the department are volunteer (paid on call) firefighters and I can assure you they are not on the sunshine list. At least try and research a bit next time before putting your hands to the keyboard.

@@greyman686 Ok, yeah they are virtual charity angels, yes they are, but perhaps I was partly inaccurate in that it is only some who make the really big 100k+ dough while others are paid on call as you stated but my over all point is valid which is that this sort of very public spectacle is hugely expensive while the tax payers who have no choice other than to pay for it all, tend to be struggling just to pay their regular folk bills.

@@Maguire-om9zd Hugely expensive? Probably not, but anyhow. Firefighters train, it's part of keeping their skills up and sometimes, it's in public. Deal with it. Go join up and see how much these folks put into this, for a fraction of what it would cost you to pay full time members.

"Probably not hugely expensive"? Say whaaaaattt??!! "Sometimes train in public"??? This "training" display was about as dramatic and showy as it gets, don't ya think? A "fraction of the cost" is still hugely expensive when you consider the massive budget for all the manpower and equiptment that made up this extravaganza of fire fighting theatrics that regular folk pay their taxes to fund. Could it have been any more extravagant? How about involving water bombers and helicopters dousing the town hall while Las Vegas dancers do their show girl kicks next time? " But anyhow" I don't agree and you seem to be hopelessly lost on the point. Oh well. Nuff said.

@@Maguire-om9zd Jesus Christ, could you be any more dramatic? Extravaganza, theatrics? Please. FYI, this is about as boring as firefighting training can get, aside from sitting in a classroom, moving some water from a river, between a few trucks and back into the river. 😴 Life must really suck if something like this gets you so up in arms.
