This is definitely the loudest GT Car ever made, it's as loud as the V10 Judd, that's really impressive.
Best car sound ever !!!
No wonder I bought the streetversion gen.2 after a test drive. You love the engine sound as soon as you nail the throttle. That engine is out of this world.
So good to get such a great video of this car!

I remember watching this car race when it was brand new. It's nice to see it's still getting exercise.

It's a sequential gearbox. Earlier sequential had a clutch pedal, clutching was needed to launch the car or to down-shift! :)

It sounds like a manual on every upshift and I have seen plenty of manual 996 RSRs.

If it's the original Peterson/Dale White Lightning car, it was the first 996 GT3RS to race Le Mans with a sequential gearbox in 2003.

I think it sounds like a manual because as they need to clutch while down-shifting, the downshifting is quite slow, like a manual, but the gearlever fixation looks like a sequetial. :) I can mistake but I'm pretty sure about the sequential gearbox :D

Nice vid !! But is that car from 2002 ? I definitely saw it at the 24 hours of le Mans 2005 ;)

It was a 996 GT3 RSR in 2005, not a RS! :D This car was used at Le Mans in 2003.

At Le Mans, Porsche 996 raced with the following versions: GT3, GT3 R, GT3 RS and GT3 RSR, and the three first are really close (most of modifications are internals like the exhaust manifold, the possibility to fit a sequential gearbox in the RS, electronic systems and so on), the RSR is easier to recognize, the easiest detail: it uses the second generation front lights! :D
