Porsche 993 Only 1,100 Original Miles First Detail in 24 Years!
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
This is a 1997 Porsche 993 C4S with 1,100 miles on the odometer. Completely insane! 24 years old and only 1,100 miles is (likely) the lowest miles 993 with this many options in the world. The paint has never been detailed. What I mean by that is... it has never experienced any polishing or abrasives on the paint. It has been wiped or touched with a towel a lot because plenty of "love marks" exist. Love marks are light swirls and scratches caused by wiping with a towel many many times without the proper lubrication. What makes this detail unique is that it's a Porsche, lots of options, virgin paint, and incredibly low miles. This requires me to act a bit differently to ensure the value of the car is not diminished or jeopardized by anything I might do. So I did not lift the car and remove the wheels to avoid any (even the slightest) chance of causing lift marks on the bottom of the undercarriage or possible "nicking" the wheels during the lug-not removal. Lifting the car was totally unnecessary with the insanely low amount of miles. I did polish the paint with a yellow pad and yellow polish (some spots I used compound) and did NOT apply AMMO Reflex Pro. I applied AMMO SKIN instead, here's why. I wanted the new owner (as this is for sale) to have the option to put a long term product (AMMO Reflex Pro) or a sealant (AMMO SKIN) on the paint as protection and shine. My guess is this vehicle will never see daily or even weekend use...so putting a coating may (or may not) be worth it. Totally up to the new owner. He or she should have that option. I added SKIN to the wheels as well for the same reason above. Hope you enjoy this incredibly rare Porsche 993 C4S detail. For a full list of products used in this episode, visit www.ammonyc.com. Can’t believe a beautiful car like that doesn’t get to live on the road where it belongs. It really needs to be driven. Such a beautiful car.

“It hasn’t been driven. It’s literally just been sitting for years and years and years”. That kind of statement when it comes to a drivers car like this is actually quite saddening.
Man sitting in church and get an Ammo notification. But we’ll worth the wait. What a great car, and awesome video as always
It's a shame that something this awesome doesn't get driven much. Great video though!
I always struggle with these low mile cars, WHY? Drive the damn thing, that is why engineers, designers and auto workers at the assembly line spent so much time and effort - so you can enjoy DRIVING the car. A car in German is Fahrzeug and that means drivething - that is exactly what it is. Great work as always Larry, is that Bricklin next?

As much as I love this channel for all the detail I learn. It pains me to see a beast like this never getting out and hitting the hammer. Thanks
Well. I was waiting for the F1 Belgian GP to start, whose start has been delayed for over an hour now due to bad weather. 😅 And I was looking for a way to kill time. So a perfect time to sit and watch a new Ammo NYC video. 😄

The “Pray for bad weather” ad is perfect for these C4S models, an opportunity to use one of the ultimate driver’s cars year round! Unfortunately the owner of this one only had one goal in mind, of selling the car for more than he paid for it. It’s a shame, but still a fantastic video as always Larry!

Those kind of people should invest their money in art if they want to hide a thing of beauty away from the public. Better ROI, little to no maintenance, and a beautiful car doesn't go to waste.

Thanks Larry for explaining your thought process. The new owner will probably have to shell out some big bucks to buy it then have to spend another fortune replacing hoses, gaskets, belts, etc. which have probably deteriorated over time. Such a shame that he just let the car sit 😞
Larry, that was sublime. The internal mental debate required to achieve that finish without too much touching was immense. That's what separates the true experts from the week-end warriors! Congratulations! The car stands as a testament to your years of experience i n the industry.
I love all the hard work you put into cleaning and polishing the cars up.

Wow, what a ride. I always wondered how the fuel system would remain in good condition (fuel varnish) from years of such low mileage.
@TBendez
2 жыл бұрын
Hint: It isn't. However reliable a Porsche is, any car that sits for years without use will have massive issues with fueling, worn rubber in hoses, fittings and suspension. The car increases in value from low mileage but loses driveability and has sky-rocketing maintenance costs associated with the low mileage. Care and love for your car while driving it consequently maintains the best value and enjoyment from it.

An absolute stunner. Your a lucky man to be “forced” to work on such beautiful vehicles.
Wow. Takes me back to my youth. These 911s were special back in the 90s

Wow! Such a nice car, great video!
Thanks for another great example of how to be a Detailer and not just a detail of a car. Preserve + Protect.
".. was encouraged to not lift or remove the wheel if not in desperate need.. " Man, the owner must really want everything to be almost untouched, right down to the nuts and bolts. I think the 1100 miles probably comes only from the occasional test drive around the block to make sure the engine is not dead 😂

I have a 991.1 2014 and in Racing Yellow with on 9k miles….of course there are lots of wealthy people in Scottsdale, Arizona with 911’s that never get driven. The women I bought this from had three 911’s in her garage. Understanding it’s a private sales, you don’t pay taxes in AZ on a private sales versus a dealership used car sale. I get a lot of great compliments on this car
Love this Car 😍

I had a r32 44k miles bought with 10k .90% stock a true beautiful example. I babied it and only took it out on weekend /dates stuff like that, after 12 years it was totaled in an accident and I’ll never regretted something like never driving my damn dream car. You only live once !
