    I did these on my 993. Hope you are aware that BBS Motorsport wheels are track wheels, and are not street legal. Also be very careful as the halves bend very easily. We built these on the bench or stand to save our backs as I used to custom build and the earlier magnesium centered wheels.

    Yup. Well aware that these are motorsport wheels. Many people run them on street, as they have become more popular in the last few years for BMW and PORSCHE enthusiasts. The beauty about them is that if a barrel half breaks or cracks, they can easily be broken down and rebuilt with new components. Final assembly for me was done on my toolbox. For me, there isn't another three-piece wheel that compliments the 997 chassis as well as the E88 does. I've tried LM's and they did not look right. Though these might not be "street legal" as they don't have a DOT#, I would still trust these wheels over a knock-off replica wheel any day of the week.

    @@NSXavier997 I’ve run these E88 on the 993 and currently run vintage magnesium E30’s and E50s on my 69 911. If you have the heavier 5mm thick halves it’s much better for the street, if you don’t see a speed bump, or hit a pothole. I’ll have to admit I am guilty of running the lightest halves which are 3mm. The forged aluminum E88 centers are plenty strong for the street. I think the DOTs problem is with the thin halves and with the attaching hardware. I once had some GT3 Motorsport wheels, which were street legal. They had larger diameter bolts, that had a locking sealant on them, and much thicker halves. I called BBS Motorsport department, and they said the wheels were street legal, until someone took them apart and modified them. Same with the vintage street RS wheels back in the day. I’m running 245 40 18 front and 275 35 18 rear on my 993 narrow body with widths of 8.5 front and 10.5 rear. It originally had 17” with 205 front and 255 rear

    Thank you! I'll admit... I have been severely slacking on uploading new content. To everyone reading this... I apologize for the hiatus. A lot of it has been due to the fact that I simply don't have a dedicated studio or proper computer to be editing videos as efficiently as I'd want... or efficiently at all for that matter. The good news is that I am nearing completion of my garage build that will also double up as my studio. I am also nearing 1k youtube subscribers!!!! In celebration of all this, I will start to upload new and fresh content on every aspect of a car guys life. Not JUST the 997 Turbo, but everything that encompasses it. From VLOG cars and coffee runs. To wrenching on it. To garage setups to toolbox tours. I have a lot planned and will start up again soon!!! E88's turned out great.

    Hello, watched all of your videos. You are a very knowledgeable guy, I have a question for you. On these E88’s what are the offsets on them front and rear. I own a 2011 gts and just ordered a set of e07 with the 19x9 front et 48 and 19x12 et 36 rears. Now am concern with the rear offset it may rub. Thanks brother.

  • @NSXavier997

    @NSXavier997

    7 ай бұрын

    Thanks. GTS is widebody, no? If so, you should be fine with those offsets. The rear might rub a tiny bit if you're lowered. Just do an alignment and camber it more negative if you rub.

    I never actually weighed them... I should have. But based on handling them and putting them together I would estimate the rear wheels to be around 20-25 lbs. and the front wheels to be around 18-20 lbs. with all hardware.

    I'm not too sure you can order direct through BBS's website. You might have better luck giving them a call and working with a representative to spec the wheels out for your car and place an order that way. I worked with David at @wheelsBoutique in Miami, FL and placed an order through him. They are a reputable aftermarket wheels dealer and offer excellent customer service. I will say though, the wait time for any wheel manufactured overseas is a bit lengthy as of late. I waited 6 months for these to arrive and I know of some people who have waited longer. Hope this helps.
