Ойын-сауық

Part 2 Porsche 911 Project. I did deeper into some of the problem areas, but just how bad is the car, how much did it cost and was it worth the price ?

If you still have the build sticker in the door jamb, you can send a picture to Porsche and they will update the COA with the missing info and forward you a new Certificate. I did this with my 1971 911T, it was born on the same day as me.

I would patching in the rust spots on panels as much as possible. Watch some of Scott's metal work on Coldwarmotors or Brent on Halfass Motors. The cost of replacement and then trying to align the new panels can be a nightmare. You are a very talented, resource guy and think you should start practicing with your welder and 3M panel glue systems. Save your money for the wiring and mechanical parts. Best of God's Blessings from Nebraska!

Looking at UK 911s that are priced at the 80-100K-pound range, you're going to probably spend that much to get that car to the point where it's worth that. But, that's fine. You'll save a classic car and recoup (or should I say re-coupe?) your funds if the market doesn't tank on them.

dont cut that quarter panel or you will be sorry11! .That littie bit of surface rust can be cleaned up and undercoated, saving you an immense amount of time and money.I OWN A 1968 912 ,that i was fortunate enough to pick up for a song back in 2004.As an old PORSCHE fanatic you know this is the same car with a smaller engine. My coupe has minimal rust issues and came with the front pan already replaced, due to corrosion from the battery area Thats a stamped piece ,thats easy to replaceand seems to bean area of concern with these cars.I would repair that bottom of the rear window area and along the top of the rear quarter panel andget that torsion bar access cover opened up and be done with it, My headlight buckets are in good shape but the metal conduit where the wires live was corroded out.Other areas to look for rust ,door hinge posts, rockers, and floors.Acomplete restoration is an absurd amount of cash involved and out of the question. But a good fun driver can easily be attained by sorting the mechanicals and that wiring mess. Then some cosmetics and start enjoying the driving. As you know these particular vintage Porsches handle so well and are absolutely just pure fun to drive whether its a 911 or 912 with the 5 speed trans these cars deliver the goods. I will never sell mine ,BE CAUTIOUS about cutting out good metal with only surface rust, those rear quarters are the most difficult areas to remove and replace.Getting it right is near impossible ,unless you do this work on a daily basis for years upon years.like say at the factory,i would steer clear.whatever you do with that car Enjoy the ride and good luck. Man you did an absolute bargain to buy that car at that price!! Yes the car need metal work but all that car need. If the engine is good in compression and nonvalve leaking do only seals and gaskets that doesn't need to spilt the case. For wiring loom: there is a good man in netherland, mr Kroon, who did all the new wiring with perfect connections!! Not cheap but you can buy it by branches for example left front light only, engine wiring only and so on. you find it as "kroon harnesses"...and rubber connectors fit the body perectly...if not good are a nightmare to fit back on the body after painting. I know that car nut by nut and bolt by bolt so if you need any advice on spare parts I'm here. Pay atention to quality of spare parts, also the original that often are the same as not original but simply provided by porsche. Body parts as wings and fender all come from denmark from dansk so try to buy them cheap as possible cause they need adjustments when fitted. Use new gaskets (doors, screens) for panel alignement before painting because all new gaskets are more fat than the old and are a nightmare to fit if no adjustment i ade before paintin the body! Great video as ever! Good luck

Regarding your Headlights: I had a similar problem and solved it by cleaning the contacts of the fuse box. You can do a quick check by turning on the light and rotating the fuses (I think it is fuse box 2, numbers 1-4) a bit by hand.
