    Also, be careful with flywheel selection! I guess with the balance of the five cylinder, if you're using a lightened/single mass flywheel, in rare instances it can cause snapped cranks. I don't know if that's just TTRS specific, or a problem for all of the modern 5-cylinder VAG engines, but some stuff I've heard. IROZ knows more about it.

    Interesting irony of putting a vw/audi engine back in a 944 when the 944 was created by replacing the audi engine in the 924. Nice improvement with the 5 cylinder you don't have the same timing belt arrangement and need to 'balance' the 2.5L 4 cylinder engine

    You have to port the cylinder head for real gains. It's basically the same casting as the RS3 and TT. There is a ton of meat in the port walls. The best porting is in Portugal #veicomer beryllium seats oversize valves and dimpled ports $1200 is worth more than a 100hp. Audi does not want to have the Volkswagen make RS3 power just by putting a 66 on it. It will do 400 N/A turbo free with cams and porting to give you an idea of the port difference.

I have no idea if it would actually work. I would like to hear your thoughts on this. • @BoostBrothersGarage

    Unfortunately no. The factory ac bracket interferes with the new intake etc. The compressor would have to be relocated to the passenger side which would interfere with the turbo placement. With that being said, the best solution would be to use an electric compressor like the Masterflux Sierra. You can pick one of these up used for around $300.

    Well, we have another batch of the mounts and iAbed items available in the next couple weeks. The bellhousing is finalized and the proof of concept piece is being manufactured right now. The intake is the final piece of the puzzle, and that may still be a couple of months. Once the bellhousing is available, we should have everything available to sell except the intake and the ECU/Harness. The ECU/Harness is being developed on Alan’s personal car so it won’t be ready until the intake is finished.

    Looking forward to how you progress. Are you using the new motors original ECU? Will this work with the 944 instrument/dash? Your turbo location looks good for LHD, but RHD this is where the steering shaft goes through. Does anyone know if the LHD manifold and turbo location on the 07K motor is different for the RHD 07K cars.

  • @BoostBrothersGarage

    @BoostBrothersGarage

    5 жыл бұрын

    Thanks. We will be utilizing an aftermarket ECU and will supply them with a base map for NA or Turbo. There will be options for a Digital race dash, or integration into the factory cluster. As for turbo location, we unfortunately have not had an opportunity to laser scan or get our hands on a RHD car. However, you can use a LH Gallardo exhaust manifold to mount the turbo with a V-Band. This puts the turbo straight forward and ahead of the motor and should give you the required clearance. The Gallardo manifold requires one bolt hole to be clearances, but bolts on otherwise.
