Pork Stew in Centurian Sauce - Keith Floyd - BBC
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
A grumpy Keith Floyd is in Northumberland alongside Hadrian's Wall to attempt a traditional Roman Centurian recipe in the cold and the rain. This recipe uses pork, carrots, onion, garlic, cumin seeds, marjoram, dill and red wine to create a very traditional if not very delicious pork stew. Funny recipe clip from BBC classic cooking programme, 'Floyd on Britain & Ireland'. Watch more high quality videos on the new BBC Worldwide KZread channel here: / bbcworldwide

He may have been a top class chef but he was a world class comedian as well. If I ever feel low I watch this and suddenly life feels good again. Thank you Keith.

And now we have PC Ramsey who continuously takes the piss out of the English, whilst at the same time telling people that all other people are superior to us. I have just watched 4 videos by GR and all he did was say how shit the English are!!!

Floyd was no chef, he was very much an untrained home cook (despite being a restaurateur), and proud of it! He'd have had no time for the pomposity and pretension of Ramsay and other Michelin starred chefs including his admirers/imitators Rick Stein and Gary Rhodes. This marvellous clip captures Floyd's fantastic, self deprecating, don't give a fig spontaneity. He was a TV natural and a star - we shall not see his like again.

He was one off, they don't really let people like this on telly anymore, He moved with the times as well he didn't stay still. That is why he was and is always relevant.
I love the ending to this. It's like they are two old friends. God bless KF.
Get the Roman specialist from the pub get drunk then try the food. It tastes like crap (overcooked) so they just throw it away. He was so honest. Could you see a stuck up chef in this day and age do that!
I still watch this clip about once a year. It cheers me up but also makes me sad at what we've lost for entertainment in the current world. RIP boys!
"These are ....people? or birds?" Classic.
I would have loved to have shared a moment like that with Keith. RIP.

BBC should've hired this guy to play Dr. Who. He acts more eccentric than any of the other guys who played the Doc.

The Galloping Gourmet in this part of the world was Graham Kerr .[NZ].. who was also a flamboyant cook...& also Hudson & Halls. .kzread.info/dash/bejne/ia6JksGsaKbAYbA.html www.stuff.co.nz/entertainment/tv-radio/88504011/graham-kerr-tvs-kiwi-galloping-gourmet-now-moves-at-a-slower-pace
He may have been a shit businessman, father and husband but what a pleasure to watch. The last thirty seconds are golden.
1:48 the plate being thrown and the dog yelping is too funny omg
Always good to see a failure instead of everything working out perfectly all the time. So refreshing. Or should I say, "Just brilliant!"
I only caught him in passing as a kid but I find him mesmerising today. The stream of consciousness. The disregard for conventions of television (especially at the time).
The one and only. Keith was a legend. Miss TV like this.
every now and then i watch a keith floyd clip as an ode to my wonderful mother ,she adored him ,i picture them having a drink together on the other side ..cheers !
This is one of my favourite Keith moments.
If he put the camp oven to the side of the coals rather than right on top, it would have cooked slower and ended up rather nice. He ruined it by boiling and burning it! Haha!
"I think we've got to ask the question. Why did they withdraw?" haha.
the funnist scene in Keiths shows LOVE IT
The main man and a true legend !!!!
You had me laughing and I really needed that today. Excellent video! Thank you for enduring the elements to bring us this video. Excellent ... just excellent!!!!

Floyd was a legend
Truly one of a kind
Brilliant
Bravo, Keith ! Hilarious stuff !
@James Carmichael The song is called Viva Vlad by The Stranglers. Most of the songs on Keith's show are Stranglers songs so that should make them easier to find.
I really miss that great chef
Imagine how epic a Floyd + Two Fat Ladies special would have been.
I love this and I I don't know why but this makes me a little sad and melancholy. Maybe yearning for the past when everything seemed simpler and more wholesome. Also has my favourite Stranglers track, Viva Vlad.
People or birds? - Floyd you are "simply the best"
absolutely fabulous....keith.
Truly wonderful stuff. Keith enjoying himself. Thank you.
Keith Floyd Forever !!!
one of my heros
There is a lot of people on here talking about the link between keith and Stranglers. My understanding is this: When he had one of his earlier restaurants he decided live music would be part of it. He got a young lad to play, maybe more, that turned into the Stranglers. I'm not sure who. but Hugh Cornwell rings a bell. Since then they have been helping each other like you should to good friends. Their can certainly not be accused of being disloyal to your mates.
wonderful show
Complete legend! Proper cooking!
Still getting back now and then to take this in :-)
Wonderful, wonderful man
Keith, sir, you are a true legend. I miss you.
They throw wine bottles over the wall, rip mr Floyd fantastic funny well humoured chap who was a little drunk with a sort of charm while cooking excellent fellow sadly missed.😮
I love the music
Truly a British hero.
Just read his autobiography .." shaken not stirred" Highly recomended !. A big insight .
He was the best fantastic voice. Loved cooking loved wine Nothing else has come. Near his shows for entertainment since
Great character, great television, great chef, a great loss.
The ending! 😃
Simply the best❤
The howl of the hound when he tossed the plate away

I love cooking and eating hot food outdoors in cold weather. Unfortunately, I don't often get that opportunity. It's usually just "being" outdoors in freezing cold weather.

The Galloping Gourmet in this part of the world was Graham Kerr .[NZ].. who was also a flamboyant cook...During his 1960s heyday, which began with a show in New Zealand before he landed in the US, Kerr was known for injecting extra fat into already well-marbled roasts and offering vegetables only as a garnish. www.stuff.co.nz/entertainment/tv-radio/88504011/graham-kerr-tvs-kiwi-galloping-gourmet-now-moves-at-a-slower-pace ..

Keith is a real man. Works with his hands and one of those hands usually has a glass of alcohol in it. Skal!
Apart from being a brilliant chef, he was a first class comedian as well. "Feel free to be edited" lol 😂
