PORCHES AND PRIVATE EYES TWO (also titled If These Porches Could Talk) continues the story of the three amateur sleuth Southern ladies as they investigate a series of spooky murders around the state of Mississippi. Their adventures take Ann Margaret, Patsy, and Jenny from Hattiesburg to Natchez to Port Gibson and even the burial site of the Witch of Yazoo.
The film is a comedy/murder-mystery in the style of The Burbs or Clue dipped in Southern culture like Fried Green Tomatoes or Steel Magnolias.
The film features actors Marlene Cupit, Sadie Hebert, and Holly Bonney as the three Southern ladies. The supporting cast includes Bill Perkins, Martha Arrington, Damon Burks, Michael D. Anglin, Dan M. Gibson, Darby Matthews, Lamar Lott, Travis Mills, Bandit Mills, and James Minter. It was written and directed by Travis Mills, shot by Jared Kovacs, and produced by Running Wild Films.

@@runningwildfilms I'm an artist. I live on feedback in a way, but I have to honor my own vision too & I get that there's a balance there sometimes. Some people always complain about the lead actress. On Hallmark mysteries there are often a bunch of comments about how someone looks a little older in the next movie. And? Lol. Miss Marple! & A ton of others bc life experience helps. Or they're used to watching superhero movies not stories about real people. Women tend to like actors who are real, bc we tend to know women who stress about weight, we know anorexia is a terrible thing. & We see the pressure to remain 20 & petite as shallow. The script wrote the character as a human being & people will have a problem with that. People bag on Hollywood though for their habit of pandering to public opinion & erring on the shallow. That's how Duckie didn't get the girl in Pretty In Pink. There are tons of complaints about it on all related videos here. But several people in some test thought the other guy was a better choice bc he came from money. She'd have more security. Duckie's wit & creativity & intelligence & heart would open doors irl. He was shorter, & people thought the funny guy doesn't get the girl. So, the boring one? You can't go by "people." You have to stick with your own vision, & you make movies about real people. If we wanted Hollywood appearances would we be here? We're looking for cozy. Mystery fans want real. We respond to warmth in a protagonist & character traits. Poirot had some persnickety little traits. Don't even get me started on Holmes! Women actors don't need to be Grace Kelly (to not pick one current actress above others) in a mystery. Relatable works. & It was bc she was single bc no one complained about married Patsy, right? Sometimes you have to not listen to input. My only issue was - to avoid spoilers - along about the wheelchair that just wouldn't happen bc protecting who needed it is half the point. People called this silly bc they didn't get that the whole idea of random people who solve mysteries across the genre IS a bit, we don't tend to go after a murderer irl if we can avoid it bc they're a murderer! So I'm gonna say to you, keep your own vision & don't let us mess with it bc someone always pipes up that doesn't get it. You can't please everyone. You can be a really good person & that's going to annoy someone who compares themselves & doesn't like the difference in themselves so they lash out, lol. The first one was better bc it was warmer bc of how that first one is though the second actress is fine. The first was more relatable. I don't look like her. It's not that. The second was more serious. The scripts aren't. For what it's worth & bc I think you're really good at this, & bc we had a former Broadway actress who'd also been a casting director, for drama in HS, I'm being honest about I think your vision is better than that input was & I'm suspicious about their motives. Thanks for making these, they're relaxing though mysteries, interesting, human, & fun!

When you wrote that, ships delivering certain things were still being quarantined, made to wait a certain length of time before landing - a decision I question but I'm no medical expert. & A lot more people were on food stamps bc tons of businesses closed, jobs were lost, across the country. When prices rose after covid bc the ban on price gouging was lifted, sales went down bc of those increased prices, plus when the state of emergency was lifted in each state food stamp amounts went down. A friend works at the DES & told me people had actually been given just over $30 / month more so they could have a little extra food in the home already in case of getting sick, to stay in but mainly bc supply was interrupted & they might have to buy what was available whether on sale or inexpensive or not. That's why just $30. It really wouldn't let people stock up, but make up for having to get what was on shelves. So actually people could finally afford to eat healthy. When the amount was lowered it wasn't quite enough bc food prices skyrocketed. People are getting food boxes from food banks. I have an older neighbor who goes, offers what she can't eat to neighbors & she says there are far more people going there. Rent also skyrocketed in many areas. They would be buying less bc they're supplementing it with food boxes & have less to spend, plus inflated prices. Stores hurt themselves raising prices. Here anyway. One did not raise prices except for maybe 25¢ but others went nuts & there are only two of the stores in the smaller chain that didn't raise prices. But everywhere, depending on those ships, that quarantine slowed delivery bc they needed to make sure covid didn't return. That's what they say. Basically the shit the barn door after the horses got out. If the federal gov't had done it the minute covid started, & shut down airports, it wouldn't have spread. Stores did more business during the pandemic than usual so the increases aren't necessary. That's in response to imagined losses when shopping went back to normal instead of buying more at once just in case. This was filmed in a smaller town not a massive metropolitan area & they're probably ordering no more than will sell in a certain amount of time, but the empty spots will be bc of the ships. A lot of food is made overseas. Cheaper production costs... but increased shipping costs. 🙄😂🤷
