Popular Brands I'll Never Review - Outdated, Homophobic, Tacky✖ James Welsh

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

All comments and allegations in this video are purely my opinion and the comments regarding Nivea are currently speculation and allegations (however you can find everything you need to know about this on the internet)
Obviously, as I review and pretty much collect so many different types of products and brands, I get comments suggesting brands I should test, which I love! The comments section is where I discover a lot of new brands. But there are some that i've tried and hated and….probably will never show up on my channel anymore!
So today I thought id share some brands that….ive tried a fair amount of products from but…and...have always been left disappointed with. And also some products I will never try!
And please remember that just because I don’t like these brands products, doesn’t mean they aren’t good or that I thin k they should all burn in hell, its just unfortunately more of their products were a thumbs down rather than a thumbs up for me!

He's right though...I mean, saying 'yes' to something you might not want to do can actually turn out great, they even made a movie based on this premise. And while it may be a cutesy little expression for this brand, saying no is 10x harder sometimes but you feel so good once you've done it. This is coming from someone who almost always said yes when people want to borrow money, help them with something etc. I guess I just have that people pleasing nature but I guess I just matured and got pretty sick of it tbh. Now I'll be 34 in a few weeks and I don't just say no, I tell people to literally go fuck themselves. I'll spare you my life story but the years have definitely made me a more cynical, distrustful person. In my early 20s I was the polar opposite of the person I am now.

So I just want to make further comments about Nivea. Yes, Nivea has apologised for the comment. This quote, whilst a big one, isn’t my only problem with their approach to the LGBTQ+ community. 1) I do not feel that any brand has to show their support or always speak up on their political stance when it comes to the LGBTQ+ community. BUT 2) If a brand makes sexist, homophobic, racist or demeaning comments about ANY minority group, I will not support them 3) If said brand then goes on to sell / gift products specifically targeted at the minority group they just shunned, like small pots of Nivea cream with the pride flag on, in order to make money from the minority they explicitly said they don't support, thats when theres a problem. 4) If the brand supported that community during a month / week / day that was dedicated to appreciating that group and actively donated money from these products to organisations and charities who support these minorities, then thats cool! Skittles for example ‘remove the rainbow’ from their packaging and make donations during pride month. Nivea, do this, with no donations. No speaking out on their stance on LGBTQ+ rights. And they are yet to come out with an advert featuring any representation of the LGBTQ+ community. As someone who has worked on many campaigns as a assistant photographer and a stylist later down the line, I know how long a campaign can take from start to finish. They could’ve easily produced mass media ads by now, showing their support in any way.....but...they haven’t.

And there really is no regulation on what "natural" means in any product. It's not an "official term" (like cruelty-free, vegan, etc) because there's absolutely no consensus on what calling a product "all natural" means. Any company can put "natural" on their product and be totally fine doing so (especially legally speaking) because there's no way to hold products to a standard that doesn't exist.

There’s a huge difference between “hate” and having a belief that homosexuality is wrong based on Biblical fact. I’m not afraid of or hate gay people. I’ve many gay friends throughout my life that I love dearly, but don’t support a gay lifestyle. I also disapprove of sex before marriage. Does that mean I hate people who have premarital sex? It’s hateful of you to not support differing opinions.

The Neutrogena T Gel shampoo is really good for scalp psoriasis too. It does take a long time to fully work though and sucks if you have blonde hair (tints it a mucky colour), but after using just the T Gel for 1 year (after having psoriasis for about 10) I had a clear scalp for about 6 years until a reaction to a hair dye caused it to return.

He didn’t talk much about it since he hasn’t used it before and like he mentioned, as an adult he hasn’t thought about Neutrogena since he was a teenager. I was just putting it out there that as someone with psoriasis I am able to use it and am very happy with it, and was recommended this product from my dermatologist :)

I’ve been seeing people share experiences about ordering products from unofficial places where they got a counterfeit product that harmed them off amazon. Especially since with channels that review beauty products, I think followers often want to flock to amazon to order it for cheaper than at a reputable drug store but it would be nice to see vloggers such as yourself warn their fans about the dangers of counterfeit products.

Nivea: That really sucks to hear. I love their "old lady creme" to lock in moisture right before bed if my skin is being problematic with dryness or irritation, and the tinted lip balms are amazing. But now I'm throwing them out, because I had no idea they had an anti-gay stance. If they don't support my brother, I don't support them. yesto: I so agree about the annoying inpirational quotes, and you're right about it being enormously harder to say no than yes. As a recovering people pleaser, it has been so empowering to embrace the "no" when it's necessary for my own well-being. Neutrogena: I like some of their moisturizers (I agree that the hydro-boost one is fine but not special) but yeah, they're really not very exciting. The best thing they came out with as far as I'm concerned is a pretty good light-medium coverage foundation, but that's more your brother's lane.

Instead of throwing them out immediately, finish what you've paid for (assuming it works for your skin) and then never buy again. Wasting product won't impact them, and only hurts the environment, but never buying from them again will send the right message. 💜

I’ve decided to ditch the neutrogena cleanser I’ve been using, as I believe it’s contributing further dryness I’m experiencing from prescription acne treatments, and am moving to a gentler cleanser you’ve previously recommended!

Hi! I recent found your channel and I’m really happy I did. I’ve learnt a lot from your channel and found better skincare products to use. I’m from Thailand and although western and korean skincare products are popular here, many people still use Thai brands. I’ve also noticed that people outside have started to try Thai brands as well. I wanted to ask if you’ve ever tried any and are there any you like? I’d love to see what you have to say about Thai brands like smooth-e or snail white. Will continue to support!!

Highly doubt that tbh. If they were bought out by a larger company then they did this for a good reason i.e. to capitilize on the name and make money. These kind of people aren't prepared to lose millions without a fight... Personally if I ran a business (any kind) I wouldn't touch politics with a ten foot pole because you're bound to piss off a very large group of consumers. Take gay marriage for example, support it and you've just lost business from many conservatives and the Christian far-right, don't support it and you've lost business from the left. Sometimes this approach can actually work to a company's advantage like Chick-fil-A but these examples are few and far between.

When I was still living in France I would use Nivea body lotions because they’re cheap and effective, I’ve now switched to a mix of Clarins and E45. There’s still something about the smell of Nivea cream that makes me nostalgic. It’s a French thing! As for Neutrogena, the only product I’ve ever use is their foot cream which is amazing.

Alisin Wonderland I’d still suggest asking him if you can get rid of. I don’t think it’s really fair to throw/give away someone’s personal item because it is anti-lgbtq. If you two understand each other, then I’m sure he wouldn’t mind agreeing getting rid of it to make sure you’re happy. I’m sure you understand consent and consent is important no matter how small the situation. On the off chance he says no, sit him down and explain to him why it upsets you, it’s as simple as that.
