    them saying the doll “smells just like real poppies” is especially creepy because poppies aren’t typically known for their sweet smell. they’re connected to deep sleep and death, if i remember correctly. love that

    The scary thing about huggy wuggy (aside from, like, literally everything else) is the fact that it's not actually that fast at first. It's not running toward you in the hallway, it's just sort of slowly lumbering your way. But once it gets in the vents? That thing takes off like a racehorse. It's like it was designed to crawl through all the tight spaces that you thought you'd be safe in.

    Two things about Huggy: 1. His teeth. He has three rows, and they're pointing inward, like a shark. If you don't know, the reason sharks have that, is so that prey can't escape their mouths. 2. When Huggy is knocked off the bridge with the box, and bounces off of things, he leaves a spatter of blood behind. Which begs the question, why does he bleed? Edit: Gonna add timestamps I find for any moments y'all might use to fuel your theories, or that I referenced in the comment. 0:04 jump scare showing Huggy's teeth pretty clearly. 28:21 Huggy pretty clearly bleeding. 30:37 for "house" sequence, which honestly the whole thing could be theorized about.

  • @h0undiie

    @h0undiie

    2 жыл бұрын

    right!!! first of all , this game and especially huggy's movements are beautifully animated and it literally looks like real movement. also, huggy's design actually plays into the way he moves and the creep factor of it. think about it; when you hear that a horror villain has long and gangly limbs, you think of something bony and emaciated, long nails, etc etc. but huggy is a perversion of childish wonder, and because of that he has this sort of rubber-hose body, his arms slink along like furry snakes. it's a combination of terrifying things we've seen time and time again, but blended into something completely original and something that breathes new life into indie horror and horror creature designs. i cannot WAIT to see where this game goes, and i really hope we see huggy again:)

    Whoever animated Huggy's vent chase did an excellent job. It makes for a great way to draw a player’s attention to a spot that’s important later. Huggy’s hand is held up, so you look at his hand to high five it…but then later when he’s holding the key the player remembers that it couldn’t have been there the whole time bc they were JUST looking at that hand??? Intentional or not, its a brilliant way to start building tention immediately without having to do much more than play a sound and spawn a key

    It has a very good build up... It takes some time, makes you learn some mechanics while learning about the place itself with texts and environmental story telling. You know shit is about to hit the fan... sometime. The chase scene was genuinely creepy! I wish the first chapter was free, but it's not expensive either. Played it through, very short but very good experience, so looking forward to later chapters. I hope later chapters will be longer.

    Its because they trick you into thinking you are safe because the vents are small and Huggy is super tall, at least you always see him as such that you forget that he is soft as fuck and thus very flexible and the moment Mark sees him in the vent through a bunch of bars he realises it too "Oh yea, something this big technically shouldn't fit into such a small space but it can absolutely fold in om itself" and that is the highest form of horror imo, when you go into a supposedly inaccessible safe area and it becomes no longer safe.

    They didn’t get me in a traditional way, but I’d argue the lasting feeling during the chases and repeated jumpscares was almost more impressive. The jump scares, though they didn’t get a physical flinch out of me even the first time, still left me with that little pump of adrenaline many times after most jump scares would have worn out and lost effect. Rather than just a momentary thrill it was more ambient dread to me. (That being said the last jumpscares to really really get me, more than once or twice, were when The Joy Of Creation first came out - and I’ve since desensitized myself to those too)

    I don’t think Poppy or Huggy are just toys. In the beginning the note says that the staff didn’t go missing and that they’re still there, so my guess is that the founder started using employees and mutilating them to make them into “toys”. The posters all around set a kind of theme that employees weren’t really respected there, and then there’s all that screaming and banging noises in the black tape.

    After watching all the chapters. It show how serious this is. Huggies pursuit, all of the mascots, mommy long legs, catnap. I'm not sure what exactly what the whole story is but that's really the point of the game. It doesn't want you to find out what happened in the first episode and the second episode spreads more light on the story. Chapter 3 shows how it's taking a toll on the player and spreads more light on the truth and the horror of what happened. But what's still a mystery is what the prototype is and how all the toys have some sort of Sentience.
