In that regard If you go thru American Magazines, Websites and other publications dedicated to Guitars, Music or Blues, you will notice he does not receives the same media attention like other guitar players of similar stature like Joe Bonamassa or Kenny Wayne Shepherd to name a few. So I’m in fact very happy and glad if in Romania he is appreciated and given equal media attention like other guitar players of similar skill and stature.

He's not covering Hendrix. Hendrix also did a cover version of a song that was written and recorded by the artist that wrote it as well as several other bands that covered it before Hendrix did. Its just that the Hendrix version is the most well known.

Just discovered Popa Chubby today and already downloaded over 50 of his songs. What a hidden gem. Love that beat up Stratocaster. Can only imagine the thousands of hours of great music it has produced.

The best cover version I've heard, and I'm someone who samples covers on a regular basis. Dare I say Popa n his guys have a sound and a sense that's better than a lot of rockstars that I've known.

I travelled to see him in France in 2003 or so and when we got there we heard his tour was cancelled because of a car accident.Never mind,i saw him later in Perigeux,fantastic!!Only a few hundred people but all worth it,very under estimated artist!!!

Saw him, front row, few years ago... he's a fucking raw blues beast/monster... one of my best show ever...!! If you like the style... he's a pro with mileage behind his tie... flawless freaking 2 hours of guitar playing "in your face" like that... Awesome!!!

Izzy- you like what you like- who cares. It's a fantastic version and nothing wrong with you liking this better than the original. I bet you Jimi would like this version. Anyone who says this guys better than that guy, or this is better than that like it's a fact, probably isn't a musician. It's about interpretation. To each their own Izzy- rock on & enjoy. Want to hear more cool Hendrix remakes- check out Eric Gales at Callahan's 2014 or 2015. I think he crushes Purple Haze & few others. (May not be to hardcore Jimi fan's liking-but none the less, great stuff). Peace brother.

This guy can play anything he wants as long as he wants. Outstanding guitar player with outstanding improvisation talent. I saw him in Germany once and he had a keyboarder with him that could do the same. They took turns soloing almonst infinately. Awesome!

I have this opinion that hendrix was over rated cause there are so many better guitarists after him. But I also understand that he invented a new style and was an inspiration to future legends.
