My first car was a mini and to this day, still my favourite out of all the cars I’ve owned. Navy blue, 1981, absolutely great little engine until I blew it up. I had an option to either replace the engine or get a new car. I did what Hammond did with his girlfriend’s car, I replaced it. I got really lucky, went to the scrappy and there was a rusted mini getting driven off a lorry and I said I’ll take the engine, and they charged me £60 for it. Me and my mate fitted it over a few days and boom I was back on the road. I loved that car

dominik hadlow sadly no. As the years passed things were always going wrong with it and it was becoming a pain in the arse and too expensive. In the space of six months it needed a new alternator, brake disk, repair an oil leak and a gasket. That was £500 right away. Then it needed a new clutch, another £300 and I decided that was too much. That was £800in six months. No way. It broke my heart to sell it but I sold it to a mini enthusiast and he has looked after it. I miss it but it was time to move on

Then it needed a new clutch, another £300 and I decided that was too much. That was £800in six months. No way.
