I myself have been goin thru a tough time finnancially and I'm grateful I can still play with my car. It's not much, and with a bigger budget I'd be done building it by now but the struggle will make the end result all that much better. I started with nothing but a rusted hulk with no engine that I bought off a farm 4 years ago, and while it's still nothing special, it runs and drives and I can actually play with it while building it. If you're anything like me and cars are one of your lifes greatest passions, you'll make it work sooner or later no matter the cost. I built mine in a driveway on jack stands, no fancy shop, no fancy tools, just determination and time. You just gotta keep pushing man! I believe you can do it! Best of luck my friend 👍

The old block 389 tri-carb Pontiacs valve train wasn't suppose to like high RPMs according to Butler Performance, but the 1966 GTO that I got a few rides in had all the right mods and loved to rev to 6,700 RPM and I believe that 389 had a forged after market high displacement crankshaft giving it a displacement of over 460. It sounded incredible going from 4,500 - 5,000 RPMs. I was hoping I'd hear that again, but this car turns out wasn't using a Pontiac V8 to 7,000 RMPs. Still very impressive. You lose like 25 horsepower just having an automatic; they're heavier and there's a mechanism for the express purpose of turning every shift into a granny shift, because ease of use at the expense of performance is the whole idea.

It's hard to believe it's only 6.0 L.
