From 1972 to 1973, I had a 67 GTO as my first car. I was 15, without a drivers license. I got over 100 traffic tickets. Memories. 😃

69s were the best with the Hideaway Headlights...& a 4 speed

*Those are one of the coolest set of taillights I have witnessed!*

Believe I once held the land speed record from downtown Austin to downtown Houston in a maroon 1967 GTO. 1 hour 40 minutes, slowdown in Smithville a well know speed trap and stop for a coke in Bastrop. When HWY 71 was two lanes. Loved that car.

it's one thing to have a car that sounds awesome, it's another to be able to capture that sound with a legit camera. whoever did what with this video, it sounds absolutely fantastic.

Such an elegant car and looks so sporty at the same time. I don't like lifted rears but this looks great to me. Some designs are not just cars, they are ornaments and GTO is one of them.

Man that is one beautiful 67 Pontiac GTO brother and that Pontiac V8 sounds beastly mate.

GTOs were always beautiful. There is not a better sound on this Earth.

Engines that you can feel through a phone are the best.

If I could have any GTO, it would be a 1970-72 that would sound exactly like this car, I like the 69’s, but something about that trans-am/firebird grill on the GTO has a special place in my heart

My first exposure to this classic beauty was from the Vin Diesel film 'xXx'. Except this one doesn't have a flame thrower, missiles, or ejectable roof like the one in the film.

The Pontiac GTO and Mercury Cougar in my opinion are the princes of muscle cars.

My grandpa has a 56 GTO shown in this vid, he also has a Chrysler Windsor from around the 50’s - 60’s, and a old Ford Thunderbird

First new car was 1966 bright yellow. Will never be a better one.

There's quite a few cars that could make that claim. '64 Cobra, '57 Bel Air, some of the Mustangs, etc...

That's they way I remember my 66 sounding. Pissed off, like their might be machine guns under the hood, going off randomly. Then I hit the gas and everything would get all blurry.

Friend of mine back in the 1990 had a 65 with a 389 bored and stroked with a 421 crank. Professionally built. Dang thing revved faster than a 2 stroke through all 4 gears... Took off about a mile away and sounded like a lumberjack in the woods with a high powered chainsaw... Still sat like this one playing Van Halen HOT for teacher at idle...

I was 18 with a '68 Ram Air I and a Hurst short throw. Ran a 3:02 because there's more than a 1/4 mile. Living proof a GTO was nearly indestructible. Faster rice rockets today? Maybe. But never the panache and visceral feeling these cars had.

I'm 52 years old all I had in my teens were pontiac I even stuck a 400 pontiac in my 1979 Chevy truck and 1982 monti carlo I will never forget the sound I had to watch the vid just because I miss the sound

A beautiful sound out of a 400ci. To bad it's an auto. But, that's just my opinion. My father was a Pontiac man. We had multiple 400s in our barn but, never a GTO. We even had a 455ci in one of our Bonnevilles. I loved them all but my favorite was a 1967 Bonneville 2 door with the 400ci 4bbl. Then, I had to go out and total it. What a beautiful automobile even with the snout. This is how 'Ihavetheneed4speed" to this day!

Have always loved pontiac's I learned to drive a 4speed in my cousin carl’s 1970 GTO 455cid 4speed only thing I want to say is that GTO ate Ford's and shit Chevy's all day long!! Pontiac's and mopars are my favorites go fast rides! now I also have a Buick park Ave for the style and luxury can't forget about my Dodge full size conversion van, house on wheels if needed lol!

Buddy had a 67 Goat it was nick named the "Panty Dropper" dude Dad was the gave it that name because he found a pair pants in the back seat inside a sleeping bag he starts yelling a his kid you are geting rid of this dam panties dropper car

Thats not a rough idle...thats a loup in the engine, its meant to idle AND sound this way.

The best sound is in the drivers seat with your right foot on the mat, owned a 65 389 3 deuces 4 speed, anyone who opened up knows the Pontiac sound, owned a few high performance car's and there's nothing like pulling 2nd gear at over 7000 rpm's ,damm mini van makes me nervous at 6000 rpm's, I'm 66yrs old and have one more engine to build! Got to spin those tire's.
