I own a 2009 Pontiac g6 base model ecotech 365,000+ miles I have a timing chain replacement coming up soon but otherwise I cannot believe this thing still runs nearly perfect. Always starts always runs just needs to be properly taken care of like any reliable car. Did I mention I’m a delivery driver and I still use it daily. Awesome car same one from video but in white. Awesome review dude!

Yung Auti This made me feel so much better . I have the same one same color just a 2010 the only thing is the a/c compressor has an issue where it works and blows cold for a couple of weeks then goes off for a couple of weeks. I know it’s an electric issue just have to figure out what is the issue lol I love the car 180,600 miles. My headlights I do have to knock on them lol

One problem that seems to plague all years of G6s are the weak electrical connections, especially in the headlights. My father and I resoldered the connections and haven't had a problem at all Other than that, I've only had to do normal bits of maintenance (oil changes, brake/rotor changes, tire rotations). Mine is a 2008 3.5L V6

The pontiac g6 with the 3.5 v6 engine, is a very stout, enjoyable ride. Extremely reliable. The steering from G5- G6 and impala, Malibu and other GM cars of years same have a manufacture recall. Get it fixed for free! Also, the motor is EXTREMELY durable and reliable. But will leak oil up front because of a VERY EASY fix. A $20-$50 Oil Filter Adapter Plate gasket is the common culprit as you approach 100,000 miles. Most complaining of the car have a G6 with over 100,000 miles. This car is absalutely great on looks when done right, hasnt disappointed me yet. After owning a G5 and 2 G6s, Steering needs to be replaced, the common wear items in suspension, and the oil adapter gasket.

That’s fixed. Had to fix headlight connector on drivers side. The driver door trunk release button fell into the door. Both visor clips broke. Other than that, it still drives really well [knock on wood.] I want to get a paint job soon. Its a very quick car. I love it.

I bought a 2009 Pontiac G6 that has the redesigned front bumper/grill and the redesigned gauge cluster with the newer radio and climate controls. It is maroon red in color and has 162,XXX miles on it. The issues I have had with the car so far is the seat belt sensor went out making the seat belt light stay on in the dash even though I am buckled in. The trunk release button on mine also does not work like yours. The engine does consume oil, but slowly. There is also a sensor out in the engine that I can't remember what it's called. Might be the same one that went out on yours. Other than those things, the car runs and drives really good.

I own a 2006 G6 base with 165k miles and the electric power steering allows my steering wheel rock side to side without moving the wheels right away in park, the open trunk button will sometimes work, my cigarette lighter chargers don’t power most accessories, my trunk pistons can’t hold the trunk up, and I think I’ll need to replace the front or back seal. Otherwise minus the small little problems it’s an alright car.

09 2.4L 6spd 75k miles. Actually gets up pretty quick in manual mode. So far most reoccurring problem is left headlight. Keep a wrench in the trunk cause it's an easy fix FOR SOME REASON MY GAS MILEAGE IS HORRIBLE Especially using any fuel grade lower than 93 Recently sounds like a wheel bearing is going needs replaced. Starting to see small paint chips on two of the radio buttons. but overall pleased. Purchased at 34k 9/2017 and these are the only problems SO FAR 🙏🏾 oh and I hit a curb so the tire monitors read funny always says right front is low but it's actually right rear. Also I think a 3.5/9L V6 AWD version would be pretty nice

I have the 2006. The power steering recall was pretty rough for me. thankful the dealer fixed it.... after nearly getting into an accident because my steering wheel locked up on on the freeway..... sadly that's is the primary issues I've had with it. freeway driving even after the fix and about 20k miles in on the repair... it still shakes and raddled at higher speeds. my model has cruse control although the issue with having it is the button placement. It constantly turn on which is a little annoying. I haven't been able to identify if its my hand placement on the wheel or if its just turning on on its own. I also have the issues with the drivers seat. I'm having an emissions issue and need to find out what the cause is to pass smog. I'm hoping its just an o2 sensor, but after having a mechanic look into it, diagnosing and replacing it as the fuel pump they broke when taking off and that not being the issue.... they pretty much did a bypass so it could passed and claimed they fixed it. but shortly after the obd scanner came right back with the same error codes. that has been more than disappointing because I'm coming up on another smog. I will look into what you mentioned though about the flex pipe. I ran into an issue with the fuel filler neck breaking and not even the dealer having anything but after market parts to replace it in my area, and it breaking again with those parts, still functionality but broken none the less. The engine itself seems to be doing great though. My biggest issues has been not having my own garage to work on it myself and multiple mechanics including the dealer not having the best luck in fixing it and having to come back again and again. I'm a little over 210,000 miles and bought it at 90k. love the car and would have loved to keep it for another 100k or more but the electronic power steering issue coming back that quickly has got me in the market for a new car. thanks for the video so much! its kind of helped me make a decision on for temporary fixes in the mean time, knowing that these are just common issues for this make and model.

I have a 2007 3.5L GT, bought it new and now has 164,000 miles. Problems thus far: Had to replace headlight sockets twice. Panoramic roof is currently broken, will always open, won’t always close. The power sun shield has no tension and hangs loose. The drivers seat back is broken like yours. CD player will not eject cd without using another CD as a pry bar to get the other out. Paint is flaking off most used radio buttons. Trunk release button on driver door just stopped working. Cruise control works intermittently(drives me nuts as my daily work commute is 84 miles of highway driving). My driver side sun visor falls off and hits me in the face when driving over train tracks(I cut it off). My air bag light on dash has been on since car hit 100,000 miles. Now passenger airbag light stays off when passenger riding in car. Drivers seat belt light and dinger goes off when driving with seat belt fastened. Transmission went out at 120,000 miles, had it rebuilt. Just replaced all 4 shocks/struts, lower control arms/ball joints, sway bar end links(for the second time), tie rod inners, tie rod outlets. Rocker panels are rusting through. Other than that, it’s been a great car and consistently gets 24 miles per gallon average.

Still got my 2008 Pontiac G6 160,000 miles 4 cylinder with 4 speed tranny. Problems, bad catalytic converter, wheel bearing front right fail then left after 2 months, speakers bad stop working, ac leaks inside, ac fan failed 3 times, headlights connections melted both lights. Pros, speakers where good was very bassy, easy on normal maintenance like oil change, tire rotation and brakes etc., was decently quick when in traffic driving around, most of all was fun to drive if you made it so. I drove mine like a rally car in the back roads from time to time during weekends drove on gravel roads, muddy road, light sandy roads, wet roads, snow and ice. Only had one accident during late winter here in Texas ended up going to fast around a turn hit black ice and the car slid into a 10 degree incline angle ditch lucky I got the car straight before going over or would have flipped the car only damage was ripped up the liner in the wheel well up front. I was headed to work to at 4:00 am in the morning had to wait about 3 hr before someone drove by to help me out of that ditch. Now the car has a bad transmission solenoid last time I drove it was last July 2018 maybe one day it will get fixed or sold to someone willing to drive it for now it sits and will get care so as to stay in working order.

I have a 2007 g6 GT convertible with a 3.9L V6, I've had to replace my spark plug wiring, a seal on the gasket head, and the passenger side rear break lines started to leak onto the rotors throwing off my traction control. The headlights have always been a problem for me, I ended rewiring both of them. Let me tell you getting those headlight fixtures in and out is the most annoying thing on that car.

Funny you said about that rust. I live in northeast and the paint is starting to peel behind the back door in same spot but I thought it was because I had body work there. As far as annoyances I wish it had factory satellite radio. With all that said I like the car It’s never stranded me or needed a tow. I received my 2008 G6 with the 2.4 from my brother in law and it has 290,000 miles. The issues it has is the turn signal stalk not returning or engaging properly, one of the washer fluid sprayers doesn't work, and the left rear door doesn't lock automatically. Also there's a huge rust through spot on the left rocker panel and tiny rust bubbling on the right rocker, popping noise on take off, clunking over bumps and flex pipe leak. Other than that, it runs and drives great. Definitely love driving it.

I have had my 06 g6 v6 for a year now. It is from a buy here pay here lot, (needed a car for my delivery job asap cause of axle snapping on previous car). Got it right under 145,000 miles and now at 177,000. But out of all my vehicles over owned this is the WORST. It has recently became a death trap. In the past year I replaced both front hub assembly's, outer tie rods, power steering pump (going out again already), starter, water pump, and the whole brake system. Drive window doesnt roll down, passenger going out too, My sway bar links are broke, car doesn't like to start again after driving a short distance, have to give the car some gas same time as starting it, exhaust leak (big hole towards the front), hard time with acceleration, no power in the engine anymore. Changed the spark plugs and nothing changed. My car will jerk on me if I'm going around a left curve, and when accelerating between 35-40 my car jerks to the right if I let off the gas. Car shakes going 55 so I refuse to drive interstate.. I have two babies and every time I have to put them in that car I'm scared to drive it. But cant afford a new vehicle. I've had to tow this car multiple times due to leaving me stranded.. (2 days after having my son in august the water pump busted while driving) I will never own another G6.
