Koen Laenens Lol was JUST thinking that, AND also how Periphery also did it, like, what, 3 years ago or somethin like that?? With the, extremely fitting of the Covid times, song named, “Remain Indoors” off “P3 Select Difficultly” haha. That’s also what they named their video of making the P3 album. It’s a Beautiful song BTW, if you haven’t heard it yet lol. But anyway, this song also fuckin rips too, that’s for sure. And they seem like funny ass dudes. Reminds me of how my band mates and I are when we are all together hangin out or at practice, goofin off in between sets lol. Nice to see musicians with personalities. Funny personalities, at that. I enjoy when artists don’t take themselves too fuckin seriously. A breath of fresh air that’s for sure.

@diegoxintibia
3 жыл бұрын
I agree with trickyy their songs seemed so outside of my skill level. But there are tutorials on KZread that teach you only sections and riff. You play them insanely slow at first and it's really frustrating. But their riffs are so catchy and satisfying to play you just can't stop yourself from practicing. It took me like 3 months but I learnt a few of their riffs and I can play them decently. I still can't play a full song of them. But I feel really comfortable with my hybrid picking now and I'm subconsciously adding it to my regular play now. It gives me a different way to express notes and im loving it. I don't regret the hours and months I put into learning some polyphia riffs

Music aside (and believe me you, that takes a herculean effort on my part to even utter) what I appreciate (next) most about these guys is their personalities. Music is supposed to be fun. I mean we all know how much effort goes into this shit... or at least we like to fool ourselves into thinking we do... what I mean to say is that we utterly and futilely attempt to postulate as best we can and still we fall tragically short... BUT...all that work has to add up to something true to self, and it's gotta be fun. THAT is what (else) sets these guys apart. They're clearly digging it.

@@spencertheis8698 Some people just dont find the slightly odd rythms and melodies too pleasing. So I can defo see how some people don't enjoy their music too much. I kinda feel the same way about alot of jazz, I dont really care too much for the music, it doesnt really captivate me, however I have the deepest respect for their craft.

Bobforfra they’ve played in 4/4 since their renaissance album lmao most of their hook melodies are straight pentatonic. don’t take this one song as their whole style, they play all kindsa stuff dawg

Polyphia doesn't really fit in to any genre that well. It has metal influences just as much as it has pop/rap/electronic influences.
First time I heard that time signature change on psychedelics, I literally melted onto the floor

I am really impressed that these guys play as well on an 8-string as they do their 6-strings. I also really like the fact that it's not just mindless shredding. They make really good songs.
I appreciate the spatial audio. Makes it a different experience being able to hear them separately but at the same time
I've watched this video like 15 times and I'm still in love with it.
3:01 I have no words. This is too good.
4:23 never knew a guy like Tim would do such a thing Im enjoying it
Best intro to any playthrough of any song ever, that is the face of my life right there Tim, keep it up!
Tim Henson wow deff my favorite
For everyone hating how out there or seemingly 'arrogant' they are, this song is literally dedicated to you. Only has a few lyrics but they are some really awesome ones. Cause some say This is it You could be anything anywhere But you would still have something to miss 'Cause some say Look but don't touch So make sure that you've seen it And that you've seen it enough Can be interpreted in many ways but I think it's an awesome statement about just how shitty music fans and critics are about the actual people that make the music are. Never good enough, and no matter what they do will never actually be allowed to do what THEY want to do or be what THEY want to be. Polyphia is breaking out of that mould. Hard. And good fucking on em.

The unison from 3:02 to 3:23 is just perfect
This is awesome playing. They really compliment each other in the playing style. Love Scott's rawness.
Greatest part after a few weeks. My wife loves this band now too. Asks me to put it on while driving. Best moment ever !!
It's crazy how they touch so much people with their music without having a singer
if you're using headphones only use 1 side at a time to hear each guitar individually
Scott’s tone sounds like butter melting over a pile of gold. Tim,....stay beautiful .
Nothing like a killer shred session on guitar with a couple of extra ball taps thrown in for good measure
Just when you think it doesn't get any better.. It starts to melt your face off. Yassss.
This is the best playthrough video I’ve seen. Them boys are such swaglords
I'm very impressed with every aspect of this. Wow.
This video captures their energy so well
"What's your tuning on that 8string?" "f*ck this sh*t"
I love how when Scottie looks straight at the camera he looks like has a normal-sized nose.

I need that kind of guitar, so my big hands feel more comfortable.
Scotts tone in the smooth bits after the main riff is just insane.
