capoman1 first of all the reason it looks so easy is that hearing it live it wouldn’t sound that way. They use drum samples to make light hits sound like hard ones. I personally think it sounds like shit but then again it’s my judgment against millions of records sold. And the tapping technique is probably when you tap and leave your finger on the fretboard for a few moments while you keep playing with your left hand. It is hard but the idea is pretty simple.
@jeremyclark8356

After 8 years of research and contemplation on your question, I have concluded that the most accurate term for the type of tapping employed in this song is simply "playing the shit out of the guitar". No need to thank me.

If they ever delete their old stuff, us fans should protest, and boycott. We will never forget the music that made us fans. And Polyphia should NEVER forget the fans that made them.
@lemau8458
5 ай бұрын
why would they do that
Damn, I've had this album for a long time and the drums are good, but pretty much as good as you expect from any band in this genre. I thought they were programmed, which they probably are, but seeing the drummer play the song is crazy. This dude knows what he's doing. Technique is flawless and he makes it look so easy. Few drummers can play like this in this style and maintain the much stick hanging out from behind the palm. Most drummers end up holding onto the very end of the stick and don't have as much control, plus you get that flopping looking stick action going on and it makes it look like you're not playing as tight and about to send a drumstick flying through the air. But playing how he does in this video where he grips further up (correctly) and there's not as much weight behind the stick means you have to be really disciplined and have your technique down. I did not expect this kid to play so well (even though tons of less skilled and poorer techniqued drummers could still play the same song - just not so pro as this kid).

That stick portion hanging out behind his palm is called mueller technique and it’s very hard to master indeed!

I love this Ep. I love this band. All of these dudes are super humble and nice. I hope they make it huge. They deserve it. I've seen these guys 5 or 6 times live, everyone is in awe while they play.
Just because you don't experience the feel of the music, doesn't mean nobody else does and that doesn't make this music shit. You have to consider the age range of this group. Really great band and I'm very impressed with these lads. And the effortless feel brings motivation to me and probably a ton of others to pick up an instrument. 🙂
This song is all around madness ! Such talented musicians 🤘🏻❤️
I love what they put out now, but man, I still miss this, the shit in this and impassion when I discovered them so many year ago just, I can't. I miss this in a way.

I've only recently discovered Polyphia. Always loved Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, George Lynch, Eddie Van Halen, and Yngwie Malmsteen but every member in this band is nothing short of a phenom and on a completely higher level. Transcend is my favorite, but I've downloaded every album into my workout playlist. Can't believe I literally just discovered you. Incredible!
I just gave you guys a second chance a few days ago and I have to say...Your songs are so addicting to listen to...They are full of emotions, atleast to me that is. I love it so much. It just takes a little while to get used to after listening to bands with vocals...
You ALL are so badass.....I am So thankful to have been introduced to your music.... True artists🙏💜❣❣

my god.. these guys are so talented!! so much time and effort into what they do best man... they deserve a big break!!
Fuck man. The talent you have at such a young age! Your future is bright.
Still one of my favorite songs of all time. And I really wish Polyphia would go back to this. Just for a song or two.
I remember being one of the first persons to view this video back in 2013. I knew right away that they were going to change the game. Feeling blessed to be able to watch them grow along the years. I miss the old stuff though.
Clay Gober goes nuts in this, I love how he adds like nearly a bass melody that integrates so well.
I hope they can play this song again in 2022, with this drummer again..
Still keep up with these guys and I'm still just baffled by their talent, especially considering how young they are. They can't be any older than me yet they can envision this shit.. Astounding.

@@JT_Grogan Yeah...you are. Look, you're allowed to have your own opinion, but do keep in mind that you don't have to downplay their newer stuff to uplift the older stuff. The fact is, as good as they were back then, they sounded like a lot of other bands. If they were to ever achieve real success they were going to need to stand out. Now they have a distinctive sound, which is really hard to do in an era where people seem to believe everything's been done. On top of all of that, the level of technicality and creativity that they have now achieved has put them (mainly Tim although I would argue that Scott is just as good) in the conversation of best guitarists of the current generation.
