Polyphia - Playing God Guzheng Cover | Moyun Official
Музыка
Happy new year! The polyphonic zither I just bought here will bring you an avant-garde song with a full flavor of the new year. Playing God! @Polyphia
(auto-translated from the Chinese)
I posted a blog before soliciting covers that everyone wants to hear, and I was keen to find that several people of insight mentioned Playing God. You fairies! Polyphia is an avant-garde band I like very much, but their chords basically have no room for realization on my traditional guzheng. However, at the end of last year, Dunhuang recommended this polyphonic zither with 43 strings! I feel like I can do it again! I can! I'm sorry to say that I was already absent-minded when I was practicing nuclear explosions, so I just tried to play this song hahahaha while practicing. Playing God can be said to be the most terrifying cover ever, the chords are extremely perverted, the rhythm is very rough, and the vocal range is invincible and jumping, it is simply inhuman! So the cover still has a lot of simplifications, I hope all the guitar masters can give me more advice!
Hope you like it! Remember to subscribe to this channel!

Pretty sure koto and guzheng are distinctively different instruments, although similar, but they each have their own charm. I think koto personally sounds more "stringy" to me. Have you tried both? I'm curious how similar technique is as they're obviously the "same" kind of instrument.

@@yukikofujiwara2144 Oh I think I get what you meant now. Yes for sure, interesting, they look "the same" in terms of playing but had no idea about the playing style. I'm not sure if the other side of the bridge playing is actually "traditional" either though as it's a modified guzheng. Usually they're only used for bends and vibrato too most of the time I think? Have to say, I am a little jealous of you guys playing one of those "traditional" instruments haha.

Weirdly enough, I think the Guzheng lends itself well to this style of play. Tim Henson uses a style that has a lot of polyphonic layering, and that's very difficult on a guitar. However, an instrument inherently built for polyphonic rhythms might have an easier time replicating that style than other instruments out there. That being said, its still very difficult to pull this off, and it was amazing to watch.

Nah, the most insane part is she thinks she better wear a mask around these infected strings.

@RealEveryDay504 clown, it looks so painfully slowed down at .75, this is am actual jam session and you should feel bad for crying wolf about an artists talent.
Thank you algorithm gods this is the best recommendation.
This sounds so magical! Fantastic!
THIS IS INSANE. incredibly cool cover!

Well the original piece is played by mainly string instruments, so it's not surprising that it'd sound good on any other string instrument.

not really for any instruments
If I didn't know any better I'd assume this was composed for this instrument. What a wildly impressive cover.
Amazing playing ... wonderful Instrument.
This was without a doubt one of the coolest things I've seen in the past few months. Thank you!
This sounds so good it’s almost as good as the original, never seen a cover this technically well played in any instrument
Easily the best Polyphia cover I've ever heard. That is so spot on and unique

Goosebumps from the start to end. What an amazing cover
Amazingly accurate, and with some unique flare as well. Beautiful translation of an amazing piece. This was a joy to listen to!
I don't know much about the 43 string polyphonic zither but clearly it is a difficult instrument to play and then you chose one of the hardest 4 min songs to play. It sounded brilliant. Well done.

from her pinned comment it was so difficult that she had the instrument redesigned: bring strings closer, make them longer, and completely change native tuning to 12-tone equal temperament to pull this off

@@LogioTek Yes, it looked strange for a guzheng, so that made sense!
I can clearly understand someone's a pro at their instrument, when i see something like this. Unbelievable job, thank you so much!
Absolutely amazing... I am blown away by this performance!
I love watching the way you hit the harmonics on the guzheng! I never realized you could do that. Excellent cover, amazing talent, hope Polyphia reacts!
This is absolutely bananas to watch and listen to. I think this is the coolest instrumental performance I've ever witnessed.

@@BleachCowboy2016 Tim Henson is brilliant. My middle son looks identical to him minus the tats( which look cool ). The guzheng instrument this lady is playing is difficult to play at the best of times.I also think she did an amazing job🍻
What an absolutely beautiful rendition. Your love and passion for your instrument comes through loud and clear. 👏
I LOVE THIS SO MUCH!!!! GORGEOUS!! seriously, what a lovely translation of this song onto this instrument, it sounds so wonderful
My goodness… the translation from the guitar to this instrument HAS to be even more difficult to perform than we know !!! Everything about this production is world class. I thank you for the wonderful art and out of this world performance!!🙏🙏🙏
What a gorgeous instrument expertly played. Hitting harmonics on a Guzheng, I love the internet. 10/10.
Mind-blowing. The most amazing cover of any kind I've watched on KZread
This is absolutely incredible!! Perfect! 🖤
This is genuinely insane.... Im flabbergasted by this performance
One of the coolest covers of this song so far. So brilliant.
i have goosebumps.. this is literally my new favorite cover of playing god…..
the guzheng really captures the essence of playing god very well! I actually think it sounds a bit better. the deep tone helps a lot
This is incredible. The rhythm is so good, it sounds beautiful. So glad to have musicians like you showing us what kinds of amazing things are possible when you work hard at your craft
This is such an incredible interpretation of the song. Can't wait to see the Polyphia reaction!
It is so satisfying hearing every note so perfectly articulated, what an incredible display of execution
It looks like you're having so much fun! What an incredible cover. You did such an amazing job of capturing the essence of Polyphia's structure and style.

The only thing I can think of while playing polyphia songs is "Don't mess it up, Don't mess it UP" Internal screaming with no facial expressions
I can't express how much I loved this! Amazing!
Best cover I've heard! that was simply amazing to listen to!
it’s crazy to me that she literally made her own guzheng to play this song. that’s skill and knowledge and most of all dedication.

@NickYeti There's not enough craftmanship to built an entire Guzheng by herself. But it does say thgat she bought the custom-built Guzheng from the maker (which is the Dunhuang brand Guzheng instrument apparel, seen on the left side of the Guzheng "敦煌")
