“Don’t remember the song any more” 😂 Dead. This was fantastic. The musicianship. The comedy. The delivery. Perfection.
That s incredible... all youtubers trying hard to simply replicate Polyphia´s riffs and you deconstruct and reharmornize the whole song as if nothing...and in an acoustic guitar! (indeed lots of work behind scenes, but the result is great) clearly classical, jazz and flamenco years of training pays off when showing such high level of virtuosity and makes the hardest things look so easy... also great to have you back making great videos, this one is from now on one of my favorites...

Classical guitarists have always been more technically proficient at the instrument than electric guitarists as electric guitar as electric guitar music is typically arranged with accompanying instruments in mind where as classical guitar approaches piano in the sense that classical guitar usually has no accompaniment, relying on the guitarist to cover all of harmony, percussion and bass. Different skill sets so you cant really compare the two and both fill different niches of phonic production and possibility but at least as far as technical ability (which as an aside is the single most useless metric for music as art is supposed to be concerned with a conversation with the observer, not a lecture on how good the artist is), classical guitar wins every time
@mrtoast244
5 ай бұрын
@@bigf0ot25 yea, Tim Henson is classically trained and used to play in a youth orchestra, but, his style grew (after learning to play rock/metal) to include the rest of the band (who are also really talented) so it's a given that solo Guitarists who are used to playing solo are more proficient on their own. As a whole though playing as a band lets you elevate your music as it's less restrictive with the amount of options you have. Though, it does restrict you in a different way, because you have to balance all the instruments, but it's easier when you have multiple experts in those instruments to help you.
@ossharkuenmeursault5609

tim henson carries obvious classical guitar influences in his playing. but yes, classically trained guitarists are generally a very scary thing for rock guitarists. and people who cross over from classic to rock/metal find everything there insultingly easy :D . you have to give it to rock and metal, in how they are really good at selling their "virtuosos"
This is actually insane. The composition alone is mind-blowing, but it seems like half of the choices are being made on the fly and the difficulty on top of that. Mind blown

the bossa nova part tho.... mindblowing! Such a smooth transition. As a brazilian, all I can say is that you've done it mate. You really are INSANE good. Congrats!
First time I've seen this channel, that was incredible. The latest polyphia track apparently progressed to where it did after Tim seeing a flamenco player cover GOAT and thinking f*ck, that was another level. I can't wait to for him to see this and see what we get in 4 years.
I like the way you play it when you’re just playing it straight better than the original
I finally start to learn this song (I am a beginner, I started the guitar last year so you can imagine the struggle), and now this video is just a non sense to me. How can you to this? You are such a monster. You are absolutely underrated. Just playing a walking bass with a melody is in himself extremly hard, and you do this with "Playing God". It is just so inspiring
I felt like an evil villain being forced to laugh Out loud. Way to take a seemingly advanced riff and just taking it to an untouchable level. Unfucking real
I'm speechless, the original song is incredibly hard and you took the difficulty to another level while still retaining the feel and melody. Mad props to you man!
