this feature was such a fun watch. idk if i'm reading too much into it but it really does feel like a passing of the torch almost. if anything, it's Polyphia paying homage to one of the greats. plus hearing their styles meld together was such a treat.

Someone on another reaction video said that he views the video as a journey: they start in the closed spaces and work their way to the top (the roof) where they see the king on his throne. He shows the boys how it's done, then they all jam together in a passing of the torch moment. I wish I knew where that comment was to give the dude credit, but it was really wel said.

The trumpet dude from brasstracks….there are live videos of the track he plays on for the new album. Called genesis. Brasstracks as a band, absolutely worth checking out as well.

I second this, brasstracks is worth the listen, stoked to see a little cameo in here by the trumpet player.

That intro made me want to drink a some strong alcohol that tastes like shit while staring out the window reflecting on all my regrets. Powerful stuff.

I actually agree that this is a perfect setup for Vai. I'm hoping he liked playing this stuff and will compose a few more conventional songs. It's be great if he could apply is absolute mastery of the instrument to making more accessible songs and melodies.

Steve Vai does that harmony without pedals. He has a song called "Candle Power" with "finger shifting".

Its actually not a JEM but a PIA. Thats his new signature guitar. Great to see them make music together. Steve been talkin bout how good Polyphia is for a while now, I first saw Polyphia as a guest to one of Steves show in NAMM if remember correctly.

This PIA black/gold guitar is my main guitar. When not in use I keep it in a display case on the wall. It is a work of art for sure…

The bass is a bit more percussive because Clay is also plucking with his middle/ ring fingers for the "popping" sound associated with slap bass edit: im dumb
