i’ve been riding this bike for about a month and it’s awesome. The only upgrades i’ve done is putting maxxis tires and going tubeless and replacing the stem with a 35mm length one

Dear roy, I hope this message finds you with the best of your health. Roy i know it might be very hard to reply my message with so many people messaging you at same time. But roy, i need your honest advice over my new bike purchase. I have shortlisted two bicycles. One xtrada 5 29er and other one is scott aspect 930 but again with the same im really confused. Both the bikes shared almost same groupset. Xtrada 5 has tektro and scott has shimano mt200 brakes. Other difference is fork, xtrada has 120mm xcm by sr suntour n scott has xcr 100mm. I honestly dont know the real world difference between these two forks....though i m more inclined towards Xtrada 5 but again scott is a respectful brand as well. Here i want your advice over this issue. Does polygon spend extensively on its R&D when it comes on building a frame n deciding its geometry, what do you think would be better of two? Regards

Don't buy an MTB at that budget. Go for a hybrid and you have more selection. A MTB at that price won't last a trail. You will soon get mechanical problems and will discourage you from riding. Trust me, I know. For a reliable mountain bike you have to start at around 30k. The more costlier a bike gets 2 things improve, reliability and weight. When you're riding trails as you see in this video, every gram of added weight tires you out. On an unreliable cheap bike things break leaving you stranded. A hybrid is designed for roads and a bit of gravel riding. That is a good compromise. You don't need an MTB for riding potholes..

It can handle jumps of upto 4-5 feet, but flowy jumps can be taken care as well.
