    Good stuff, easily the best review on youtube of these bikes. You actually ride them instead of just standing around and talking about components, and your review has just the right amount of detail in a clear format. I'm researching for a decent upgrade from my Marin 5 that won't break the bank and the Siskiu lineup seems perfect for that 👍. If you were to do another one of these comparison vids I'd love if you did one on the Trek Top Fuel vs Fuel EX 😁 Thanks from NZ

    The Siskiu D7 is capable of much more than what the chart at the end projects. I understand they want to sell the slightly more expensive bike that it's still a budget bike, but i even think the dude had a hard time depicting them as so much different even while it was his task, but to be clear THERE NO QUESTION that the T7 is a step-up and the better trail bike, but this is way more diminishing returns than what the chart projects, they are close, somebody skilled enough would be comfortable doing black diamond trails on it, but yeah the 5-10% extra comfort/performance will be on the T7, but the D7 will be super capable on everything but big drops.

    hey, I have similar feelings. Could you help to highligh in which scenarios the D would be superior over T? would that be about the comfort of riding/position while just pedaling? what are your thoughts?

  • @Satorikn

    @Satorikn

    2 ай бұрын

    @@maciejg.8653 They are pretty similar bikes but the T Series is more trail/all-mountain oriented while the D Series is in between XC and Trail. Travel and Geometry are Different but i wouldn't say DRAMATICALLY different. I'd say the D pedals and climbs a little bit better and the T would take bigger hits with more ease.

    Last year I upgraded from a box store Schwinn 21spd I'd had for like 10 years to the T7 myself, and WHOO BOY did I fall in love with biking all over again! So much so I bought the special edition D7 with the Suntour boost fork this year, so I literally have both of these bikes and I love em! Yeah, the D7 definitely is a little lighter and nimbler on technical stuff and more efficient in the flow trails, but that T7 just eats up rock gardens almost as much as those rock gardens eat your tires! Glad it came with those dual wall, reinforced 2.6" Schwalbes! Both of these bikes are just amazing!

    @@dakotakaech2399 I own a T7 but both are great bikes, i've had the chance to try them both and it depends. If you're mainly going to ride on trails and very rarely use the bike for other types of riding, definitely go for the T7, longer travel, better geometry and components will make it worth the extra couple of hundred. Now, if you do a little bit of cross country and use your bike for some mixed riding, the D7 is more than capable and overlaps also on trail use, especially if you upgrade the fork, but upgrading the fork may land you on T7 price tag anyway, also i wouldn't upgrade my fork beyond 140mm on the D7 due to geometry, while if i am not mistaken the T7 comes with a 150mm fork stock, also nicer groupset for climbs. Speed on single tracks would be better on D7, T7 would handle rocky stuff and drops better.

    Awesome video, thank you. If cross country is my main aim (and not super crazy rocky ascents and descents), would I go wrong by buying something like the T7 (actually I'm planning on buying the T8)? Is the D7 actually better at XC than the T7, or is it simply a case of that the T7 can do XC just as well as the D7, but well, it's simply not necessary for only XC?

  • @bikesonline

    what about the difference of a position on both? Do you noticed any comfort difference? I am planning to use is in the same time as a MTB "tourer". Any other concept or feature (other than suspension travel) of the D over T makes the D a better choice? All I heard from your video is "if you don't need what T brings, D is good enough" but not that D would be any better from T at any conditions... I would appreciate helping out. Thanks!

  • @bikesonline

    The D is definitely a bit more of an XC position with shorter reach and more leaned over at the bars. If your plan is to crank out the miles, the Siskiu D would bode well for speed and efficiency.

  • @bikesonline

    @bikesonline

    Depends on what your idea of versatile is. If you mean everything from XC to Enduro the T would be better, but if it's XC, Double Track, and some road every now and then the D would be better. The D is a little more poppy and playful but that is at a sacrifice for descending capability on gnarlier trails.

    Siskiu D will be best for XC and if you arent attacking the descents super hard. The Siskiu T is a perfect do it all trail bike. The Rift Zone is very similar to the Siskiu T but we would say a fraction less maneuverable but more stable at speed.

    I used to own a siskiu d7 transitioning from a hardtail, my initial experience with the d7 ride was mostly positive, but there were some quirks that caught me off guard. One of the first things I noticed was that in certain curves, the pedals occasionally grazed the ground. This wasn't a deal-breaker, but it did demand a bit of adjustment to my riding style. However, the real challenge arose during minor falls. It felt as if I was instantaneously placing my foot in the inner part of the crank arm when I was attempting to touch the ground to prevent a fall, resulting in a few unfortunate collisions - about three or four times, to be precise. The turning point, or rather the tipping point, came when navigating those wooden bridges connecting the trails. A fall ensued, and my ankle ended up wedged between the crank arm and the downtube. As I slid down a hill with the bike entangled with my ankle, I thought that my leg would be broken Stranded on the trail with no one in sight, I had to summon all my strength to pull out my leg from the bike. This traumatic incident left a lasting impact, prompting me to sell my full-suspension bike and revert to the simplicity of a hardtail. Reflecting on it now, I've noticed that the downtube geometry of many full-suspension bikes extends parallel to the ground before taking a bend upward. This raises a crucial question for me - has anyone else faced similar challenges, or is it a matter of adapting my riding style?

  • @bikesonline

    @bikesonline
