Thats because Tonga once ruled over these islands. It bound to happen when one kingdom or empire occupies other land. Just look at the Romans, Greeks, and British empires. They have taken a lot influences from the lands they occupy and into thier own

Very good point my friend. Don't mind me, I was just joking and I know that Tonga once ruled over those islands, or was it just Savai'i and Uvea? Not too sure about the history but Tonga was a powerful force back in the day. Her influence can be seen throughout the Pacific, everywhere from Fiji to Hawai'i (where i'm from). Unko Piko I've read that during this time of Tongan rule, it was really "Samoans from Tonga" who occupied villages in Samoa. These Samoans were the result of mass migration after Samoas civil war, resulting in Samoans making up the vast majority of Tongas TuiTonga. Or Royal body. I don't mean this with any offence, just to show that really its OUR dances as pacific people. Especially Samoans and Tongans! We are essentially one People.

***** Well obviously gentically there are differences. I was referring to the customs that each island practices, especially to do with dance. And the information I gathered are mainly off threads and discussions about the history of Samoa and Tonga online, alot of the information is based off diaries left behind by dutch sailors who at one point spent alot of time in Tonga. Can I also ask where you get this idea of "Pure polynesian"? Because In many circles it is believed that much of "polynesia" are branches that begin with the Samoan people.
