Deadliest Warriors In The World: Royal Tongan Marines Battle Cry - Sipi Tau (Kailao)

Footage of Royal Tongan Marines conducting a Transfer of Authority Ceremony. Similar to New Zealand Haka dance, Sipi Tau/Kailao is a type of ceremonial war dance.
Tonga (Tongan: Puleʻanga Fakatuʻi ʻo Tonga), officially the Kingdom of Tonga, is a Polynesian sovereign state and archipelago comprising 177 islands with a total surface area of about 750 square kilometers (290 sq mi) scattered over 700,000 square kilometers (270,000 sq mi) of the southern Pacific Ocean, of which 52 islands are inhabited by its 103,000 people. Seventy percent of Tongans reside on the main island of Tongatapu.
Tonga has never lost its sovereignty to a foreign power.

Even at altitude in the wintertime they'd probably still play "she loves me, she loves me not" with each of your limbs without too much effort. These guys have the Maori fighting spirit and modern training. They're aren't too many people who can take them one on one.

As a US Marine myself, I wish we had something like this. Can you imagine the fear they struck into their enemies back in the day with swords and spears with thousands and thousands of men chanting this. I'd piss myself.

Excellent comment. This goes beyond esprit de corps. I was a BC in the Rangers, and have had 0311 and 0318 in my command. We watched these guys, along with other SF from the Pacific Rim at the stumps one summer. Definitely had the sh!t tight. Zero flaws in every demonstration, readiness, awareness, tech, assaults, repelling, etc. About as highly trained as MARSOC and my Rangers. Definitely no fear in clearing a building. Thank you Marine for your service!

When all that shit goes down what will happen? boots on the ground and bullets flying, war will always be the same, your drone will only go as far as your signal allows it. But stay in your office and fly your drone buddy.

They performed a Haka for us once, it was intimidating and inspiring. Each of them were built, large men, and even though the number performing was maybe a dozen, they filled an atrium with sound and physicality. I won't forget it.

These guys secured GEN Patreus' HQ in Baghdad. If you went there you met them- and they met you, with no arrogance or bluster. But what they did demonstrate was quiet- deadly- competence. You KNEW, if they were there, they were there for a reason. And it didn't take much international acumen to understand why. They were calmly professional and embarrassingly polite. And there was no mistaking what they'd do if the shit hit the fan.

There are over 10,000 American, British, New Zealand, Samoan, Australian, Germany, Italy, South Korean, Japan and Columbians soldiers died since 2003 to this day to protect the WORLD from the terrorist. Not just their individual countries, the WORLD!!!. Nat, that is respect and loyalty to the World! Please give me a good reasons why the Tongans perform a Maori haka? Isn't haka a Maori word? To perform a haka during sports and entertainments is another different story but in combat? Knowing damn well that the haka was originated and owned by other islands? I think their is a word for that kind of misconduct. We throw people like that in jail! What are your thoughts Nat? Stay frosty!

Second Both are performed in sports and entertainment but their purpose is to recognise their ancestors and prepare them for battle, whether it be on the battlefield or in the sports arena (e.g. Rugby). The Maori are polynesians just like the Tongans, Samoans, Hawaiians, Tahitians etc. All of these polynesians have a war dance!
