I'm in my second year bs accountancy, and we study law. It's a very good pre-law course though. If you want to be a corporate lawyer, take bs accountancy instead. We read laws such as the negotiable instruments law, oblicon, src, rcc, and MANY MORE. Yes, we also read cases. It's so hard reading the law because there are terms that are out of this world lmao, it's not easy to understand them. But take note!!! Most of the topnotchers this year are Certified Public Accountants. So yes, I recommend taking up bs accountancy as a pre-law course.
Everyone is very well-spoken and speaking with substance. I can really tell na mahimo mong competent professionals soon.❤️

For me, any AB/BS course is good as preparatatory for Law. Aside from PolSci, these courses are good: Psych, Philo, History, Literature, Criminology, any Business-related & Accountancy. For me, Accountancy has the biggest advantage because of Law subjects (also with Business majors) and pagdating sa Taxation, homecourt talaga nila yan. :) Moreover, we have Nurses who went and excel in Law School, even topping bar exams. Usually, may ibat ibang advantage ang graduates I just mentioned, usually sa first year Law School. But pagdating ng Second year, halos magiging equal na ang lahat. I have watched several vlogs on this and they're telling the same thing, freshman law had been an equalizer. It really does not matter anymore what you've finished in pre-Law. Having the right reason(s) of going into Law, having right mindset (pass & top Bar exam), and right ATTITUDE are the most important elements of Law School success. :)
Here is a Political Science graduate and my experience during those stormy college days were truly unforgettable and thrilling yet nightmares for many as they often described. Taking up that course is the best when you have plans going in law school and could not explain the joy when I finished the course even I felt drowned and overwhelmed, I still get up to continue and everyday is struggle as you reach 3rd & 4th year as all subjects are major and purely law subjects and you will spend many hours reading and reading but I can say that studying Political Science is really fun and enjoyable and now preparing myself to enter the real war in law school and hoping that I can manage schooling while working at the same time and I really feel the excitement now and nervous appealing all over my nerve. I hope many will find Political Science as one of their options when going in college regardless you have plans entering law school or not and is not necessary that you go to law school after you finish that course but this will certainly open you many opportunities. I love watching your videos. 😃 Wish that you encourage many to take up Political Science and make others feel how beautiful that our course is. 😊😍📚📑 Proud of you! God bless to your studies! 😇😉

I'm a law student. My pre-law was also posc (LPS track yay!!) What's the best? *ACTUALLY, IT DOESN'T MATTER.* _Here are the pros I experienced being a posc major:_ -you will have an advantage in 1st year law when it comes to Consti Law and Persons and Family Relations since you've taken up the basic concepts and landmark cases -reading a lot is no longer an issue -you're used to graded and scary recitations -essays are your forte _Cons:_ -posc graduates struggle with business laws like corporation, obligations and contracts, taxation, partership and agency, insurance, etc. (Tip: find a cpa friend in law school! haha) -well known dw ta nga garaon sa law school haha so pls, don't act as garaon. Like nega stereotype ni sya, sad but true. Always be humble esp if 1st yr pa. -it's only during 1st year that you will somehow feel superior academically but as you gradually advance in law school, everybody has adjusted and so mu equal na ang playing field. Starting 3rd year, the posc graduates will have to face business laws which tbh lng, most us find them difficult. Like Taxation plssss mkabogo sya hahaha mg solve and compute gihapon -the huge disadvantage is actually in the long run, dali kaayo mka burn out ang posc graduates. There is this depressing feeling nga I did well mn during my 1st & 2nd yrs, but ngano stuck ko karong 3rd yr? -tbh, I regretted haha. I should have taken accountancy but nonetheless, posc is an exciting course. I also have classmates who are smart and are doing well. They are not even posc graduates or cpas. They are teachers, engineers, nurses, IT and business management majors. I even had a fashion designer classmate and she's doing great! This goes to show na actually, it won't matter. People have this idea na many lawyers are posc majors so they think na it's one of the best pre-law course. But actually, practically speaking, limited mn gyd ang job opportunities sa posc. We are left with no choice but to proceed in law school. Like try ug sa newspapers, naa bay wanted posc? Png hire mung posc bi!! Maayo mn mi mu research gd! 😂 So yeah, there may be some advantages with some pre-law degrees but at the of the end day, it's your perseverance and undying dedication in law school which will help you become a lawyer. (PS if you will take up law in the near future, pls pls pls take your mental health seriously. Don't be too hard on yourself. Pause. Breathe. Pray. Dayon laban gihapon!)

I hope you can all sustain the energy you have right now as freshmen students until you become the future leaders of the country or what ever each of you aim to be. Pol Sci is very close to Law, it is a very good and a very strong, most traditional pre-Law course but I beg to disagree that it is absolutely the best one. I am a Pol Sci student myself, and disregarding biases, I would say Accountancy is the best Pre-Law course since studying Law is already part of the degree program. Also, it is a very practical course because should you decide not admitting yourself in a Law School, you would still become a professional in a specific field e.g. become a CPA. The skills you could learn in BSA such as critical thinking, objectivity, analysis and logic, etc. would be far more useful in Law Schools; while studying theories, history, and other very broad topics confined in various overlapping disciplines etc. in Pol Sci which are basically knowledge-based is almost useless in the College of Law. Usual courses in Law School is Pol Scie and other Arts/Humanities/Social Sciences Degree but Useful courses include Business Administration, Accountancy, History, BA Psychology (BA is pre-Law while BS is Pre-Med), and Philosophy. Nevertheless, it is also very important to note that everything boils down to the individual students themselves and not on their degrees or from what school they come from. Lawyers I personally know have often told me that the advantages of students’ varying Pre-Law courses are only felt and exist during the Freshmen year where everything is anew and it all disappears on the Second Year onwards. Everyone is basically “back-to-zero” upon entering the College of Law and all students, no matter what course they took or from what school they came from have equal footings in Law Schools.

Political Science is not best at Law but it focuses on the fundamentals of being in Law like- reading comprehension and language skills; writing and speaking skills.
Everyone’s so well-spoken, wow 🤩 I’m a new subscriber and will be binge-watching your videos lol.
I'm a Political Science graduate and is currently attending law school. Don't fall for the trap that you wanna take Political Science because you wanna take up law in the future. Having it as a pre-law course really depends on the institution you'll be attending. Some universities don't really focus on preparing 'polsci' students in studying law in the future. Some tend to lean towards teaching Political Philosophies e.g. Medieval or Modern Political theories which are great subjects, btw and believe me, somewhere in law school, your law professor is going to come across these topics and you just wanna raise that hand and volunteer! However, for most part, these topics won't really work for you although in my undergraduate degree we got to discuss equally amazing subjects such as International Political Economy, Public Administration, International Law and of course Constitutional Law, these are the subjects that will help you prepare for your law school dreams. These were the subjects where I learned how to digest cases for the first time and appreciate the spirit of the law. But again, it depends on the university that you'll be attending. Nevertheless, Political Science is still a great course! Good luck on your law school dreams.

What is the best pre law for you if you want attending law school?
@monikaninanodalo9330

Most of my classmates are CPAs and the huge advantage is very apparent. So, I'd say Accountancy. If that's not doable, you can still proceed with Political Science. If you really want to pursue law then you'll work hard for it in your undergraduate degree regardless of your major. 🙂

@@monikaninanodalo9330 Agree, accountancy is the best pre law course. but I think second is nursing because nursing produces the second most number topnotchers or placers than any other course aside from accountancy. NURSING demands memorization, which is badly needed in LAW. 2017 1st placer from La Salle Bacolod 2017, 2nd placer Silliman 2016, 4th placer USC 2017 are all nursing graduates..

The long wait is over😊 so excited for this
Hello everyone! Kindly read: (1) Allow me to reiterate the main essence of this vlog-that is to inform the public about what political science is as an academic discipline. No such thing as "pre-law" course since every bachelor's degree could become a pre-law course. (2) This vlog doesn't support comparing of other programs-weighing which ones better or worse. Every bachelor's degree has something to offer-each has their own purposes and specialization. (3) The claim for political science as the "best" pre-law course is merely subjective. Of course, someone who's studying POLSCI would say it's the best; same goes to those who study legal management, accountancy, etc. In the end, it's always YOUR decision and your decision is influenced by several factors. One of it is on what kind of lawyer you wish to become in the future--CPA Lawyer, criminal defense atty., etc. Your choice of bachelor's degree is important in this sense. (4) Again, different institutions have their OWN CURRICULUM. Meaning, first years from different universities don't necessarily tackle the same subjects based on the year level. Example, university X tackles political law/ideologies/theories in the first year while university Z is more into comparative politics. As first years in OUR university, our curriculum starts with theories, public ad, political law and the likes-reason why this vlog seems to solely tackle about the constitution. I hope this cleared the confusion:) Thank you for watching and I really appreciate ALL the comments. ❤️ Keep safe and healthy everyone!

Yes, Political Science is a good pre-law course. However, there are other degrees that are also good like Accountancy, Legal Management, and communications-focused degrees. Based on my experience, accountants are really good when it comes to Corporate and Taxation law. Well, civil and commercial law classes in general. Political Science graduates do well in politcal law classes (Consti 1&2, Administrative Law, Local Government, Public International Law and Elections Law). Legal Management graduates also do well in general. Nonetheless, I believe it all boils down to how you are as a law student. Grit is what gets you through law school. Good luck on your journey in becoming a lawyer!

You're right. Except that, from what I heard, accountancy was deemed the superior pre-law course out there. And I believe the reason for that was Exhibit 1. Discipline - Accountancy was goddamn hard and if you manage to get through that hell, your chances of being a lawyer were high. Exhibit 2. Grit- Sometimes, you have to rely on your classmates to copy their answers LOL Exhibit 3. CPA board exam- Probably one of the hardest licensure exams in the Philippines next to FSOE and Bar, if you manage to pass one. You are on a good track I'm really confused why Pol Sci is considered a pre-law course here and why the demand in this country was so goddamn low. It all started from Malcolm hall in U.P where the Dean of Pol Sci was heavily inclined to the law that's why he introduced big-time law subjects into the curriculum. The situation abroad, however, is different, it was standalone. Ate josh was obviously inclined to social sciences as I do. The difference was the practical means of Pol Sci was not justified and therefore I'm not convinced. In the next 4 years, at least in this country, I hope fresh grads from Pol Sci have better employment opportunities
