    That's a big reason why I started this channel, and specifically posted this video. I felt so disheartened for the longest time because I really thought I wouldn't be able to get into any law school without absolutely stellar stats, but there's hope!

    As others have said, I really respect the candor. I’ve boomeranged around and was also an NY transplant in Colorado applying to law schools. Like you, CU was my first admission. A great choice, and I knew once you laid out all your options that that was what you would choose. I didn’t go to law school in Colorado, but I ended up back here (at least for the time being). When you’re open to experience life is rarely what you expect it will be. Congratulations and good luck on your second semester exams and in your career.

    As each of these law schools has a several hundred dollar application fee, unless your family is made of money, this is a complete waste. Cut it down to 5 at most.

  • @MadiBooMonkey

    @MadiBooMonkey

    8 ай бұрын

    They are not “several hundred dollars” each, they are typically $50-$85 max and many schools have no fee at all. On top of that, many schools automatically waive the fee if you express interest, and fee waivers are also not hard to get at some schools just by asking nicely. Additionally, it’s not a “complete waste” to apply to many schools, because it increases your chances of getting good scholarships, which you can then either use to weigh your options or use as a bargaining chip to try to get a better scholarship from your school of choice. It’s likely that most people who clicked on this video are interested in going to law school in at least some capacity so please don’t spread misinformation like this ❤️

  • @johnnyzeee5215

    @johnnyzeee5215

    8 ай бұрын

    @@MadiBooMonkey Not any misinformation. Simple common sense. There is a reason why most law students, are sons and daughters of already successful and wealthy lawyers. Because money is no object to them. This young lady has applied to several prestigious law schools. Probably looking at $ 80 to 100 thousand a year, or more. The student loans will be astrononic. Plus transportation to and from school, if it's far away. Also housing, and other living expenses, educational supplies, entire wardrobe of new clothes, computer, phone and Internet service, Starbucks coffee a few times a day, gym membership, hair and beauty treatments, tanning salon, scented candles, bar visits, etc. The basic necessities of life for a young female law student, of course.

    Thank you so much for this comment! I can promise you that my family is not made of money lol, and while applying for law school can be expensive, there are so many different ways to finance it. Just as you said so many schools will give you fee waivers, but many people don't know that it's as easy as asking for it!

  • @alinaatlaw

    @alinaatlaw

    6 ай бұрын

    Thank you for this comment, because it gives the the chance to address a few things. I do not come from money, neither of my parents are lawyers, nor are any of my family members. I paid for my applications on my own, and I will be paying for my law school tuition and cost of living on my own. I applied to prestigious law schools because I had the incredible opportunity to attend a prestigious undergraduate university through the help of generous scholarships and loans. As I explained in the video, there are so many ways to finance law school applications as well as the cost of attending law school, especially for lower income students. As a first generation law student, it is so important for me to share my journey to help the next generation of lawyers navigate this profession who also don't have people in their life to help them through it. I am so incredibly fortunate and thankful to be attending law school, but it is something I have worked hard for and do not take lightly. Putting all that aside, it is up to each person to decide how they want to allocate their budget, and what is most important to them, whether they come from money or not.

  • @johnnyzeee5215

    @johnnyzeee5215

    6 ай бұрын

    Well, that's all wonderful. But it doesn't take too much to figure out that most people in law school, are the sons and daughters of wealthy lawyers, who went to the same law school. They want to keep it a private club, among themselves
