Hello, what do you think the minimum caliber of the stainless steel sheet should be in order to have a mirror finish?

Mirror finish should be coming a long time before 5000 grit, it should be noticeably mirror like at 2000 so maybe you should use lubricant and won't need to go as high.

You've wasted more paper towels than the work you did - seemed like a paper towel commercial.
