Great video. I am trying to polish mild steel. I'll have to get the sanding set up you used. I also recently got some high grade microfiber towels which do not leaves any scratches and clean off the polishing film well.

Thank you for your very informative video. I will be working on 70 year-old stainless steel railcar. The sheet you were working on appears to be new. Would the same methods and materials apply?

Very nice video and job-from a distance. I would love to have seen a close up! Is there a reason why you only use one side of the pad while sanding?

It looks like you are sanding at an angle, not flat to surface? Thanks

I have a large stainless steel dining room table that is 25yrs old I'd like to know if I must go through all the sanding you did in this video. Also, I once saw that someone created a design with a sanding tool and it looked wonderful What could make a lot of etched circles on the table?

Does it matter what brand the grit sandpaper is ? Would duragold be good to use or do you recommend I use the brand you’re using ?

Hello. Question from an artist trying to do something similar. What's the thinnest cut of stainless steel foil do you think it would be possible to shine to a mirror finish? I need something flexible, so I fear I will SOL because I would need something thick enough to survive a sanding, but that would make it too think to flex as needed.

loved the video. I have a problem of not getting the finish shiny enough. i get it reflective, but not mirror finish. When i use wd40, especially, if leaves a dark residue that I have to clean off. Also, I seem to get a lot of buildup on the sanding pads (all grits) Any advice?

If you go at it with a polishing compound/rag long enough, it will get shiny. Try it in a small spot and you will see.

You’re burning your Trizzac desk in which will leave a glaze over it. Replace your desk more often you’ll need to go back to 1200 grit to get rid of it properly.

How long do you sand for each grit of paper?

Until you get rid of the marks from the previous grit. I am NOT an expert but I did this with a belt sander on acrylic/perspex the other year. Sand in ONE direction until all you can see are marks in that direction, then change to finer grit, turn 90 degrees and ... Worked very well.
