When my daughter was 14 I had a 21 year old guy who went to the same church as us and he started trying to convince my daughter that “God wanted them together “ and that there was nothing that I could do about it. After having a face to face meeting with him, the pastor of the church and me he decided that “God” was leading him to go to a different church and he took up his predatory habits there. The worst part is that many pastors won’t warn another pastor of a predator that is heading their way. It’s like they’re so afraid of scandal in the community that they just want the problem to go away from their church without making any waves in the community.

A lack of empathy should always be concerning. And relying on vigilantes to handle things isn't ideal as that shatters families regardless.

The restraining order is not the stalking laws, that's just a temporary measure. If he's charged and convicted of stalking, he can get incarcerated.

Guys who can't accept a "no" are some of the most dangerous. They have to keep an eye out for him because this type of obsession doesn't just go away on its own. Scary.

That girl and her mom are so strong I love them. I love that they called the cops and let them handle this awful predator too. The mom hopping out of her car to tell the neighbor to stay out of it as police were handling this problem. And I'm surprised how calm the daughter was able to keep herself when talking to police. Yep, i am not from the US, nor am i a gun owner or lover, but in situations like these you gotta check your laws and get a gun. Too many stories started just like these and ended with family members and/or the girl being hurt or worse...

It’s been engrained into our youth as well. I used to get so mad at my mom in the late 80’s/early 90’s during the satanic panic. She was so convinced that nefarious powers that be were gaining strength with indoctrination through music. By gosh, if I don’t feel the same way she did about the music that’s around today. 100% indoctrination and creating squads of young people just like this boy.

It beats having officers with immunity just throwing anybody they want in jail for any reason. There's a reason why our rights trump the authority of the law, and you are advocating (innocently I believe) for a gestapo society. No thanks. Our freedoms mean that we have to deal with morons like this young man. It sounds like your girl is following the proper steps to have him arrested if he persists, so I'm not sure what more you want. On a side note, this is why daughters have dads. If this kid were to try this stunt with the wrong family, he'd be kissing concrete, and there isn't an officer in this country that would fault or cite the dad for handling his business.

I couldn’t agree more! Document everything! She’s shown strength in a very dangerous situation! I’m a a dad and grandad, and if I’d had a daughter and this happened to her, I’d be extremely proud of her speak up, but extremely angry that it was necessary. This shouldn’t happen, but it most definitely needs to be called out when it does. Speaking up is necessary but also traumatic. I have only boys, and they KNOW better than this! My granddaughters’ are being taught from a very young age(the oldest currently 8) to speak out if ANYTHING seems wrong. I couldn’t encourage this more strongly!
